He couldnt even get our Defense to hold the #31 ranked offense to under 24 points. Sad. Yeah it was 24 points. Remember a INT got returned for a TD on one play.

The same offense the Eagles held to just 3 points Zimmers D allowed to get 24 points.

Please fire this guy. When we get a real DC in here our D will kick butt and be real sick.

Used to be we never made any adjustments...or would do what we did last week and let them score plenty in the 4th.

The thing that bothers me most about Zimmer is that we always seem to be reacting to the offense, we are never the type of D that dictates to an offense. Zimmer got saved to today by individuals on the D making plays. Zimmer's schemes are never the reason our D is doing well its always an individual effort. Look at Johnson's D in Philly, they have great players but their scheme magnifies there effectiveness.

What I don't understand is that the 3-4 is suppose to be an attack defense with lots of blitzing. In the first two games that is exactly what it was, until the 4th quarter of the Commander game. Then Zimmy went passive rushing only 4 and playing soft in the secondary. Well see what that got us..........no pressure, big plays downfield.

I don't think the Defense blitz but a handful of times today.......

I don't really have a problem with Payton in this game. Our lousy defense limited him in what he could call in my opinion. Overall, I thought the offense was very clutch today. (The INT for TD aside)

I think most of us knew that the defense would suffer some knocks at the beginning of the season.

Look at all the new faces for cryin' out loud. We're in a new scheme...new for just about everyone.

There will be bumps in the road. Again, I can remember posters saying that they expected us to give up big plays at the beginning of the year.

Personally I think the fans who expect a defensive team which is learning a completely new system with several new veterans and several rookies to play like they have been together for 3 or 4 years are what really sucks.

The only thing that is unrealistic is fans who suddenly expect another Doomsday without giving the defense enough time to learn to play together. Any reasonable NFL fan should know it takes time for consistency to develope and if it didn't dawn on them all they had to do was listen to Coach Parcells, because he has repeatedly warned this defense is going to be inconsistent especially the first part of the year.

What really sucks is not being able to enjoy this win and admire that the defense never gave up and have twice won games late by stopping the offense with interceptions.

Well, I am happy with the "W" but yes I agree New York Cowboy & others...

I think we have quite a bit of talent on D, but its not used very well or suffers break downs...

I sensesed that Henry would be taken deep...He whiffed bad on that one bump & run..

Of course we still lack a true free safety...I am still wondering what "interchangable" safetys does for us? Anyone?

I don't like our Nickle D pkg ether...

4 man rush...2 backers...Everyone knows who is rushing...No guess work for the offense...

I just wonder what we could do with a Jim Johnson type defensive BRAIN?

zimmy will play out the year and be canned so he can pursue a movie role as Squiggy, in a remake of Larverne & Shirly The movie!

I just believe if we were going to implement the 3-4 scheme we should have brought someone in who has been running this D. I would have preferred this over learn as you go
