He couldnt even get our Defense to hold the #31 ranked offense to under 24 points. Sad. Yeah it was 24 points. Remember a INT got returned for a TD on one play.

The same offense the Eagles held to just 3 points Zimmers D allowed to get 24 points.

Please fire this guy. When we get a real DC in here our D will kick butt and be real sick.

Sorry...you can't make chicken salad out of chicken poop....we're not out of position...the guys letting the defense down are the players...lousy coverage, lousy recognition, and especially lousy tackling...very lousy tackling. The players have to play well....it's not magic...when they let receivers get behind them time after time and miss tackle after tackle, the solution isn't to be running a different scheme.

And when it's good we credit Parcells.

The thing that bothers me most about Zimmer is that we always seem to be reacting to the offense, we are never the type of D that dictates to an offense. Zimmer got saved to today by individuals on the D making plays. Zimmer's schemes are never the reason our D is doing well its always an individual effort. Look at Johnson's D in Philly, they have great players but their scheme magnifies there effectiveness.

Thats why Dom Capers, after he's fired at the end of this year ought to be hired after the season

Capers is very ordeinary as a HC, he (along with Charlie Casserly) cant draft, but MAN he can call a defense

And he's a 3-4 guy

Ireland acquiring talent, Parcells, and Capers would be fun to watch IMO

My God man, lighten up. WE WON THE GAME. Nay sayers always try to ruin the satisfaction of victory with negative comments that everyone could do without. Zimmy's sucky calling held those guys to 1 TD in the 2nd half, he did something right. Dude, turn in your jersey or be a real fan, and enjoy the win for a while!!

I'm actually starting to agree, I've always reserved judgement on Zimmer and Payton but they are underachieving IMO.
Watch our offense...if we pass on first, we run on second, its like written in stone and other teams have figured it out. If we run on first for more than 5, we run on second. if we run on first for less than 5, we pass on second.
We lit up the scoreboard when we had to pass all the time to come back.
On defense, we have one of the best fronts and certainly the deepest, yet still have a hard time getting pressure without blitzing. We have some good corners, at least solid most of the time, a star SS, and a few good LBers. You shouldn't need an allstar at every position to have a great defense and you should be able to scheme to hide the few weaknesses you have. I shudder to think of how good our d would be by stealing the d coordinator from any of the Skins, Pats, igglets....etc...

The only way for Dallas can have an aggresive defense is to get someone out there with an aggressive mind and get rid of Zimmer. It doesn't matter if our scheme is made for sacks, INTs and turnovers like the 3-4. Zimmer doesn't have a clue how to run it.

The problem with Zimmer is his mentality. He rather have a defense thats built on containment and the bend but don't break scheme. He gives too much responsibility to his players rather than giving them the ability to make plays.

Why are we using Ware to watch TEs and fullbacks? Then we blitz Shanle and Dat up the middle. Ware should be rushing the passer and nothing else.

Why are we playing Roy out in middlefield rather than close to the LOS?

Why don't we ever jam the recievers? Why are we giving recievers all the room they want to run their routes? Then when its 3rd and long or 4th and long, we wonder why the recievers are so wide open or are making spectacular plays.

Gosh, this is just the tip of the iceberg on all the things that I notice about Zimmer and his defense. Its not the players fault for the breakdown today. Zimmer doesn't know how to utilize his players to play to the best of their abilities. Thats the reason why we are having trouble tackling. Our defense is too worried about what their responsibilities rather than making the right plays.

I just believe if we were going to implement the 3-4 scheme we should have brought someone in who has been running this D. I would have preferred this over learn as you go

I think you all might be a little too harsh on Zimmer. I expected all summer that this would be a much better defense in the middle to the end of the year than at the start. We have rookies like Ware, Spears, and Canty getting major playing time. Ferguson is new. The 3-4 is new, for goodness sakes. Henry is new. Aaron Glenn is new - he saved one game, and lost another. Keith Davis is a new starter at FS. Greg Ellis, La'Roi Glover, Al Singleton, Dat Nyguen, et. al., are essentially learning new positions due to the 3-4. Scott Fujita is new. Kevin Burnett and Willie Pile are new. Etc. etc. etc. I am disappointed that we let Santana Moss run downfield, unchecked, TWICE, through our defense last week in the 4th quarter. BUT THESE ARE GROWING PAINS. Zimmer has been an outstanding coach - he hasn't just gotten stupid all of a sudden. If we cut this guy a little slack, and if we get lucky and stay healthy, this is going to be a strong defense by the end of the season. THAT IS WHEN WE WILL REALLY NEED IT TO BE A STRONG DEFENSE!!!

I cant believe all the excuses this guy gets. Zimmers whole time in Dallas has been all excuses and no results.
