Wow Zimmer sucks so when we started doing well then it couldnt have been him because well Zimmer sucks.

Non sequitor, circular and stupid argument.

You guys claim that he never makes second half adjustments and when our D noticably improves in the second half then you refuse credit. It is truly truly sad.

GROZ two main issues with him is that he doesnt make in game adjustments and that he doesnt get to the QB or get turnovers. Well now our D gets turnovers and sacks and improves in the second half and its something else.

This is behaviour common amongst hate groups Im saddened to see it from Cowboys fans.

Zimmer could and should overhaul his blitz packages. Mike study some of the Jimmy Johnson tapes and borrow a few of his.

Id rather him study Dick LeBeau in Pittsburgh--or Dom Capers when he was in Pittsburgh

WE DID MAKE A MAJOR ADJUSTMENT TODAY after the half. We quit trying to match up their 3-WR sets with our standard 3-4. That was a major factor in holding down the Niners in the second half.

This is sad and shallow, but hey the thing about being blinded by your hatred is you never have to realize how foolish and immature you actually are.

One little ray of sunshine....after the half we gave up only 7 points.

Used to be we never made any adjustments...or would do what we did last week and let them score plenty in the 4th.

Ok...everyone can continue on the zimmy love now. :D

memo to BP, we "held" the worst talent in football to 24 pts and 390 yards...

thats awful no matetr how you spin it

I'm so disgusted with our defense. Yes Zimmer cannot do everything like sack the QB or rush the passer. However, he can draw up a killer scheme that should have and could have prevented our defense by being scorched by the worst team in football today. He had all week after the Skins game and he failed to do it. I bet he didn't even look at the film between the Eagles in the Niners. And if he did, why doesn't he learn from it and implement what worked?

This baffles me about Zimmer. He gets credit for alot of things like the improvement on defense this year. Yet how come its not okay to criticize him? Why is it that players don't get the credit that they deserve? Doesn't anyone think that its because of the influx of talent that is now part of our defense?

Therefore I have to say Zimmer is not really the reason why were better this year. Its because of talent not because of some useless scheme drawn up by Zimmer.

Quick question -- when we went to that 'attacking' style of defense today and the blitzed would be picked up, what would happen to Henry?

Henry was already in man coverage quite a bit today, and got toasted time after time by Lloyd. What happens when the blitz is picked up and Henry is back in man coverage again to Lloyd?

Then you all would be complaing "why the f*** isn't Zimmer double-teaming Lloyd?"

It's a never ending nit picking with you all.

Next week the score could be 38-7 and the Cowboys only surrender 200 yards. But if LaMont Jordan breaks a 70 yarder, it's time to fire him again.

It's pathetic.

Second verse, same as the first. We've heard you all trying to playing his swan song and it's tired and played out. Give it a rest for a couple weeks, mmmkay?

Same thing that happened when the QB had all day to throw.

And you imply that the Zimmer bashing has been going on for a while... I WONDER why that is?

If it bothers you so much, don't click the freakin' thread, mmmkay?

Yep. And if that was so easy, why wouldn't every team in the NFL do just that?

Just pointing to people who give credit to Zimmer and not to the players. Then when a player screws up the same people will go on to blame the players and not Zimmer, exonerating him from any kind of blame whatsoever.

If Zimmer gets credit for anything for what the defense does. Why is it wrong to blame him if the defense does something wrong as well? Weird.

So whats so good about Zimmers defense? Tell me. His defense doesn't create sacks, turnovers and INTs. Its based on containment and a read before you react to the ball carrier first rather than a defense thats attacking. This year is not different. Instead now we have talent on defense compared to last year.

Tell me why you think Zimmer isn't the problem? Would you call the scheme just like Zimmer would call it? Keep in mind that same Zimmer scheme allowed San Fran to score 31 points off of us.

Great defense right?

I've never read on this board where a person gives Zimmer all the credit and NOT the players.

I have read where Zimmer gets all the blame and the players get none.

It's simple. Either you think Zimmer is a good DC or you don't.

One thing is certain. Zimmer doesn't miss tackles. Zimmer doesn't blow coverage. Zimmer doesn't rush the passer.

Having said that. These kids are YOUNG. They will get better.

Perhaps..............just perhaps.............it is a combination of both that will eventually sort itself out.

I personally don't think Zimmer is as bad as some do and I DO think our pass rush will get better once these young guys obtain more playing time.

Remember those threads before even ONE game was played that said we will be going through a learning curve on defense???????

Well.............those threads were there for a reason and that is EXACTLY what is transpiring right now. We are young and learning.

Blame Zimmer or blame the players, but please, don't act surprised that we are where we are on defense with these young kids.

We predicted this for cripe sakes.

Oh please, our defense is young and unexperianced for the most part. That's our biggest problem at the moment. Offenses are jointly testing our "newish" secondary by challanging our young guys up front to get to the quarterback first. That's not happening so hence, we're getting burnt long alot.

Those whom need to be questioned are those who were so on the bandwagon over the Glenn and Henry signings and not so much Zimmer. Not yet atleast..

Next weeks game should be a telling point... Glover Vs Sapp for battle of possibly the 2 best DT's of the last 10 years. I have a feeling Glover's play steps up next week and if we're lucky it will rise the play of those young guys around him, and finally they can become a true unit of one. And if we want any chance of winning against Moss next week, a intense pass rush from the guys up front is the only thing that's going to save us from possibly losing Newman (confidence) all over again...and us getting burnt big time by this team or should I say, Moss, again.

I'm not apoligizing for Zimmer but Bill Parcells controls this team and should shoulder the most blame for the failures on either side of the ball. He's the head coach and can overide any decision made on offense or defense. We underestimated the value of a veteran free safety and were paying the price for inexperience.

Sarge I still maintain the whole 'perception' of an "incredible pass rush" down after down is impossible to maintain. It just ain't gonna happen. No team in the NFL does that anymore-- the rules have put a big crimp on the ability to generate a pass rush. Not too mention the popularity of the west coast offense and primarily the 3-step drop.

We could have blitzed everyone yesterday and you still won't get to the QB if they are using a quick set and throw.

The days of having a pass rush like the '77 Cowboys are long gone.

Exactly. This is Parcells team. If the defense is underachieving, then he is at fault just like Zimmer and the players. He implemented the 3-4 and has a say in the personnel and how it is run. If he doesn't like what Zimmer is doing, then he should step up and make some changes.

I think it is fair to criticize the coordinators. Both can and should do better. But people bash Zimmer like he is the worse guy in the world. I just don't see it. I see young players learning the NFL, veteran players learning new schemes and Keith Davis who just may need to be replaced back on defense.
