The officiating in our games. Is it just me

Every single fanbase of every single team thinks they get screwed by the refs more often than anyone else.

I was screaming at the no call on that as soon as I saw the replay. I was also wondering where Buck and Troy were on that no call since they seemed to be nitpicking everything else. They showed it more than once, and neither of them even mentioned it.

For some reason announcers never backup a bad call against the Cowboys. They cover it up as good "veteran" play or they completely ignore it altogether. Thus questioning the league why these noncalls are being made on one team versus the other.

Nonetheless, I blame this on the FO and our coaches. They never, ever seem to question a bad call or never bark at a ref for messing up on not seeing penalties right in front of their faces.

This irks me about Garrett. Jimmy Johnson had no trouble ripping thru refs making bad calls. Garrett seems like he has not a clue on how the game of football is played at times.

I'm pretty sure they send in a list of bad/missed calls on a weekly basis, it just never gets publicized. I have seen JG get in an official's face on occasion. I'm not trying to defend him, but I think he probably goes about the right way. If a coach gets in an official's face after every questionable call, they tend to lose impact. It's probably wiser to pick and choose your times in order to be most effective. On top of that, JG seems to go out of his way to keep an air of calm about him no matter the situation in an attempt to keep the team calm. That said, I felt he should have gone after the official on the phantom PI call way more than he did.

Nonsense.

It's just you. The human element to officiating will always be subjective to the fans, and close, but not entirely accurate. The Giants' fans surely have the same complaint on missed calls or inaccurate calls.

One can either worry over it and what should have been, or realize all teams get favorable calls and non-favorable calls.

It comes down to execution and beating the other team. So many hang their hat on the Dez call, or the Murray fumble in the GB game.

That game was lost because Dallas failed to capitalize on a hobbled Rodgers in the first half and blitz him into the stone age.

The Giants' game was about turnovers and not moving the chains. Not yellow flags.

Far too simplistic of a view and explanation. Show me a play similar in absurdity to the Street play. It was simply made up and ridiculous. Of course all teams get bad calls but there are degrees. That call was off the chart bad. I could name others that fit that description like the no late hit call by Moore on Romo the first game.

I think Garrett is in the "I'm above blaming the officials crowd" and this is part of the result of that thinking. Sometimes officials deserve some blame.

I don't think so. The way that Stephen Jones accepted the non catch by Bryant makes me think that the Cowboys just does not challenge bad calls.

On the other hand, you have the Patriots that isn't afraid to challenge any bad calls and I've seen Brady rip the refs a new one. Thus you see them get all the calls their way.

The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Garrett just does not make enough noise to warrant any kind of change to the way the ref calls our games. Thus we get the results that we see with the refs.

I think this too. He lets these calls gets away because it not "proper" as a head coach. Frankly, I could give a hoot. He should stop being a professional cheerleader for the public relationship department and rip these refs a new one for every bad call.

If he lets the refs get away with it they'll keep doing what their accustomed to doing.

And you can find your comment on any fan board, in any team sport, during any season since the internet was invented by Al Gore.

Whoa. One innovative step at a time. Knowing where the ball is can determine if the offense made a true first down by inches. Or if the defense really snuffed a dive play at the goal line underneath a pile of players. Whether the ballcarrier's elbow, shin or knee is down can still be delegated to the ref's judgment. For the time being...

One doesn't make sense without the other

My boys 6 and 12 don't believe Troy ever played for the Cowboys, no matter how many times I tell them how great was. My wife, who is a Saints fan often asks me why does Troy hate you guys, lol.

I think he takes his impartiality too far some times.

I hung out with Bill Jones and Spagnola once. I told Bill that I'd much rather listen to he and Babe Laughenberg call the games than Troy because he sounds like a hater. He said he's heard that a THOUSAND times.

When they get a Super Bowl taken away from them they can complain.
Well, there are an awful lot of teams whose fanbases see themselves as fitting into that category as well.

I've never been of the conspiracy mindset, but it really looked like that ref didn't throw the flag until McFadden broke into the clear and it was obvious he'd score. I think the ref only threw the flag to prevent the TD, and I'd sure like to know why.

Funny, I was going to document the time of each play and start a separate thread on this.

I can tell you why, money. There isn't a conspiracy against the Cowboys (though the league office clearly hates the team), there is a conspiracy to keep ratings at high as possible. The ridiculous flag against Street is the prefect example. The NFL and the refs want a close game, at least until the 4th Quarter. If one team gets up by two scores at the half, a lot of people turn the channel. That means millions of dollars lost in advertising revenue. So presto, chango, you always see the calls go in favor of keeping the game close - especially before the half.

I'll note the penalties in this game when I go back to the tape but I've been busy this week, but the next time you watch an NFL game look at it from that perspective. The calls don't favor one team as much as they favor keeping the score tight so ratings stay up - and with ratings staying high the advertising revenue stays high.

I wouldn't say it's systematic but when you get a Huge td overturned(cmon when's the last time someone made a play like that on offense) it does seem to show *some* personal bias. Like that gets A flag ? Come the **** on

Even my gf agreed and she's not smart

and dating you is proof of this, huh?

Yep, 9/11/11......Cowboys vs Jets
0 penalties called on the NY team

What amazes me me is that we have only played the Steelers a handful of times in our history and yet they have 3 games against us with zero penatlies including Super Bowl X
