We’re not a good team. When one hole is plugged here come 2-3 more leaks. Then when those are plugged out comes another 1-2. It’s not a steady ship. And the inability to put everything together is the sign of a bad team.

• The coaching should be better
• Execution on both sides of the ball should be better
• The kicker shoulda made that chip shot
• The refs suck
• Yada, yada......

The reason this team is where it is and has been this way for nearly a quarter century is simple: Jerry Jones is THE PROBLEM.

• You can blame our mediocre, robotic, uncreative head coach....or the guy who hired him and continues the charade that this coach can win something of significance.
• You can blame the highly paid OL, or LB or DE or RB...or the guy who signed them.
• You can blame the flag happy refs that have become the centerpiece of the game...or the guy who is the main architect of the NFL as it is today.

There’s plenty of blame to go around. But the guy who purchased the GM position for $147 million “til death do us part” is the primary reason for our frustration my friends.

If you want to get mad, at least direct your anger where it is most deserved.

What are the tangible negative things he’s doing? NFL executives said in the offseason this was a top 5 roster.

We know players want to play here.

They’re willing to spend money to keep their own guys and even brought in outside guys this year like Cobb and Quinn.

Yes he’s the constant since 1996 but multiple teams have asked to hire Will McClay as GM and he wouldn’t stay if he didn’t have real power.

If you’re biggest quip is he won’t fire the coach then ok but Garrett is a top 10 coach, just not a top 5 coach that wins Super Bowls. As the biggest advocate on the board for keeping Garrett, I still think and agree that if they lose to Philly next week, Garrett should/will be fired heading into the bye week.

I dont see how a coaching change helps with Jerry wanting a yes man at the position.

It's pointless with Jerry still at the controls.

We are entrapped and drawn dead simple as that.

You (we) have to hope Jerry's recent statements about his own mortality is the motivation he needs to get a name-coach. One capable of managing the players despite Jerry hanging over him. I know someone who knows about a meeting that Jerry and Stephen had with Jon Gruden a few years back (Dan Patrick confirms this as well) when they considered moving on from Garrett. The issue was the control Gruden wanted. Allegedly, Stephen was pushing to let Gruden have that authority. Garrett turned things around and Jerry held off Stephen.

There's a also been a ton of talk about our supposed interest in Lincoln Riley. We don't do a really good job of keeping things secret (think draft season), so my guess is there's some substance to that. Lincoln is not stupid and more importantly, neither is his agent. They know exactly who Jerry is. Lincoln will have some contractually obligated authority if he comes here.

When there’s no accountability at the top of an organization for repeated failure or mediocrity, it permeates the entire organization. This team is cursed with bad leadership. They have enough talent to win, but the players are being failed by those who “lead” this organization. Will McClay is a great talent evaluator but he doesn’t coach make contract decisions.

This organization is also permeated with nepotism. The owner bought his GM position. Any other GM would have been fired long ago. This organization run by this owner has a playoff record that literally speaks for itself. There is ZERO EXCUSE for this team to not have played better for the last 24 years.

Weaknesses at DT and S that keep derailing us and a refusal to address them w/ other than cheap assets.

Lack of understanding of the type of players you need to put around/with other players to maximize talent.

Complete refusal to hire competent HC's.

Poor player development.

Undermining HC's.

Poor player evaluations and assessments.

You’re right. And I refuse to let the Jones Cartel ruin my favorite team for me. The only power I have over Jerry is my wallet. And I proudly refuse to surrender a dollar the way he runs this thing. I know I’m just one person. But at least it feels good to me to have the power of choice.

Those were both, low-risk contracts to aging veterans, albeit both were successful signings. Even those minimal efforts were a departure from their recent aversiveness to free agency. Their fears seem to be mainly caused by their own past mistakes in overspending for players.

Improvement next off-season means they may have to go after a marquee free agent or two, especially at DT and Safety. I'm not advocating outbidding everyone, but they have to stop ignoring elite-level free agents and/or hoping for bargains. They can achieve this by actually utilizing the cap room they are awalys boasting about, and moving on from their pat-themselves-on-their back overspending on in-house guys like Tyrone Crawford and Jeff Heath.

It is astounding. And yet it isn’t surprising when you think that our owner/GM who refuses to admit that he’s the biggest problem we have. He could have hired a half dozen other winning coaches the last 24 years but he’s so scared he won’t get his almighty credit, he won’t do it.

I can sell my tickets on average for about three times their face value but I never do. I’m a gotdang addict and go every home game win or lose. It is what it is and hopefully they manage to stumble their way into a super bowl and win before I croak lol
