The proof is in the pudding VT was better than Bledsoe

after you finish laughing and beating your head on a wall

quote me a stat to prove it.... or tell me how you grade qb's...

A stat to prove what? That Vinny had a habit of throwing backbreaking INTs in almost every game we had a shot at? That there were many times I saw him grossly underthrow recievers on deep balls towards the end of the season? Here's a stat for you. 6 versus 9. That's right. Even though the horrid Bledsoe turned the ball over more, got sacked more than anyone we've ever seen, and is a "statue", we won three more games with him than Vinny. I know that before our LT went down this was one of the most productive offenses in the league. So it's enough with the anti-Bledsoe threads already.

Whats so funny ? I bet if VT had a full training camp under his belt and a healthy set of receivers he could have done the same thing bledsoe did this year. And the point is VT's numbers are similar to bledsoes and he had less last year and a WORSE defense. Defend that suckas !!

Is is freaky how much their stats are similiar, however, stats can and do lie......

Bledsoe won 4 games for us this year on making great plays......and yes he did lose a couple.....but, Bledsoe had the better arm and year

How did he have the better year he had much more negative plays and he had Campbell, Terry Glenn, Julius Jones, Key and a better Defense

3 more games ? Guess it had nothing to do with the better defense we had right ?

I believe if you check we were leading the league for a while with vinny T who started out throwing a couple 300 yard games but poor ole VT did not have the defense that Bledsoe did nor did he have Terry Glenn or Julious Jones or Dan Campbell for a good chunk of the season and then Key had a bad knee no wonder he threw a few more picks... again your arguement does not hold water

Bledsoe did have Glenn.

Vinny T didn't have the defense they we had this year.

The moral of the story is, they both are just average QB's. Now let's find our Franchise QB or we will be sitting here next year talking about the same crap without a solution.

Word to the Wise: You're football IQ is going to take a serious hit after this post.
Look at it this way:
I would venture to say that most people, probably close to 80%, of the people who drink and drive make it home safely. Does that make it smart or right? Just because it looks good on paper ..........

I don't drink and I see no significant difference between the two QBs. Vinnie gets way to much flake from Cowboy fans. The truth of the matter is that both QBs have strengths and weaknesses. The offense was worse in 04 because the talent level on both sides of the ball was worse IMO. Bledsoe has had much more opportunity to throw the ball down field then did Vinnie. There is no question about this at all. Vinnie was limited but then so is Bledsoe. The statistics are almost identical but the record of the teams is markedly different. This is not because of the play of the QB IMO. It's because we were better defensively and we ran the ball a little better. Time of possesion this year is much better.

You have good stats to back you up--yes

As a fan, I felt a better chance to win with Bledsoe......the old coaches gut feeling.....but, I would like to draft a good young franchise type QB soon....this year or next at the latest!

true but bledsoe had JJ and Barber and Glenn and Key and Campbell

VT did not either have them or they were injured

who's is the harder road to hoe

your confused. We're basically supporting the same position.

Since you are so stuck on stats, how bout this one.
Vinny 6-10
Bledsoe 9-7

again VT made do with less... that it was only a three game differance says more about how good VT was than it does about anything else

LOL you got that right :D

I took one look at those stats and had to check it thrice...

would you have believe it?

While responding to a post to mickgreen58

I came across some stats:

Bledsoe had 17 fumbles, 17 interceptions and 49 sacks this year in 499 attempts... Vinny T had 8 fumbles, 20 interceptions and 34 sacks last year in 495 attempts think about that for just a moment and not let it just pass in one ear and out the other folks plus the running game for most of the season sucked for Testy because Jones was hurt

also VT had 60.0% completion rate Bledsoe had 60.1%
VT threw for 3532 yards without Terry Glenn for the most part Bledsoe threw 3639

average per pass completion VT 7.14 Bledsoe 7.29

they are the same guy...it is freaky...they are so close the only differerance would be that Bledsoe threw a few more TD's 23 for Bledsoe to 17 for VT but bledsoe had lot more negative plays....

Vinny did more with less...no TG-no JJ and for the most part an attrocious o-line

The only thing you have proven is STATS LIE!

Yeah and QC was 10-6...

They all sucked and I don't want QC, Vinny or Bledsoe next year.

But if BP comes back next year, its Bledsoe and I will root for him. Just would like to see an upgrade at the DALLAS COWBOYS QB POSITION.

Guess I'm just spoiled having watched Danday Don, Roger, Danny and Troy.

fine that is really easy to say...so what do you have to prove that Bledsoe was better...sorry if I don't just take your word for it

Call Bill Parcells and tell him you think that Vinny is a better QB, or just as good, for the Cowboys than Bledsoe because he had similiar stats last year in comparison to Bledsoe's this year. You just might give him a stroke and then he won't have to make a decision about coming back.

We led the league in passing yards for a short time, I believe three games, because we had no run game, and had to chuck it like crazy. Also at that time, VT DID in fact have Glenn.
