Maybe the world's richest businessman, Elon Musk, would consider buying the Dallas Cowboys? He is always demanding excellence.
Why would the Jones family sell this team ?

Hey Alexis…Who the hell is a big name coach?
True. Just wishing if they got a big enough offer. Why would the Jones family sell this team ?
Ignore her....For asking who is a big name coach?
I don't think JJ would sell it, but I won't be surprised if the kids do.True. Just wishing if they got a big enough offer.
Jones has many other revenue streams besides the Cowboys. His real estate holdings are worth as much as the football team and remember... he makes a fortune with all of the non-football events held at AT&T. Next year, AT&T will host a World Cup semifinal. 100,000+I lived in SW Ohio near Cincy in the 90's. Terrible teams there and my bro-in-law had Bengal season tickets and knew the owner. He told me many times the owner wasn't interested in spending money to make the team better and only bought the team because it was a great investment and he made millions from it. I feel like we have become one of those teams.
You make a very good point. I don't think that Stephen would sell but you're right. Perhaps the kids want to hang out at the beach and be rid of it. Who knows, the NFL might not be the NFL in a decade. Interest is already waning.I don't think JJ would sell it, but I won't be surprised if the kids do.
Alexis?Hey Alexis…
BellychickensWho the hell is a big name coach?
Not playing.Wow, you're seriously going to justify this hire? There was a plethora of better candidates. Don't play dumb.
Also, the career assistant formerly known as Brian.Bellychickens
Ben Johnson
Kingsbury
Pete Carroll
McCarthy
Saleh
I take it you don't get out much?
Nah, I wouldn't call him a big name coach, unless you're referring to his dad!!!!Also, the career assistant formerly known as Brian.
Wow, a lot of big names. So, we could have hired any of these guys and the fans would be pleased? Ben Johnson was going to Chicago no matter what.Bellychickens

This is a theory that makes sense as much as any other, especially given Jones' history of some of his failed big name free agents with injury histories and/or personality disorders. Stephen made an impact on him also, but I would not call it successful when saved money is overspent on the other end (huge reward contracts that cramp their cap.) Jerry's obvious narcissism has an unfortunate characteristic of existential blamelessness. Every big football decision he makes smacks of self righteous certitude - he has given his coaches the talent, so now, it's their fault if the team or player does not succeed. This is a GREAT read. It gives a ton of insight into the thinking and what's going on behind closed doors. Big player contracts are explained. It gets into the coaching search (who felt out of place) and Deion Sanders.
The real reason why Jerry Jones hired Brian Schottenheimer instead of a big-name coach

I started the conversation three or four years ago, returning each year since, in explaining why the Cowboys don't sign external free agents. They conduct football operations like a Fortune 500 business that is too big to fail financially, but still doing things woefully incorrectly. This philosophy appears to have leaked into the process that led to Brian Schottenheimer being hired as the latest head coach.
All in all though, things seem fairly obvious from the outside looking in. The Jones don't trust their ability to look outside the organization for help. When it comes to players, there's nothing that will convince them the risk is worth the reward. When it comes to head coaches, they will trust former champions, but even they could have conditions attached. It's all a stressful existence for fans who have tied their sports happiness (and sometimes overall joy) to a franchise that has shrunked into it's turtle shell.

Another set of players and another set of losers. Dak and this continuity thing is nothing more than the Romo friendly thing before him. It’s always about comfort and coddling at the Star. That’s fine and good in a real company but this is suppose to be a football team.

According to Jerry, he bought the Cowboys to be a family business so he could work with his kids. He's going to eventually hand this team down to his kids and grandkids for the same sentimental purpose. The Jones family isn't about winning. They are in this for themselves for their own selfish reasons, and there is not a thing anyone can do about it. Musk could offer them 20B and I doubt they would bite. There is no difference in happiness between 10B and 20B.You got a point Musk could offer 10 billion and not blink
Like Musk would want the Cowboys while he is working on rocket science and Tesla and manipulating the U. S. government.According to Jerry, he bought the Cowboys to be a family business so he could work with his kids.
