The refs' "missed" fumble on Schultz changed the entire complexion of the game

but once you have the ball in possession, tucked in...then its start to come loose doesn't mean its a fumble...if that was the case, anytime the ball would be loose and perhaps the WR, RB recovers it, its not considered a fumble and recovery....once you have it tucked away, you have to clearly lose possession, in this case it wasn't a clear loss of possession.

act of losing the ball is not actually losing the ball.

Why was this ruled a fumble then? Zeke touched down in the middle of this but the ball started coming out before.

Since people here like to contend that they just want a fairly called game I'm shocked that this play hasn't been talked about. With Indy already up 3-0 and the Cowboys driving for what would be their first score, Schultz clearly fumbles this ball that the refs, who you all say swallow their whistles, immediately blow a play dead that was a fumble and Indy had pounced on. @Blackrain told me to be vigilant about what the refs might be up to in this game and will you look at this? An egregious benefit to Dallas who were trailing and about to go down 10-0 if this had stood. With the Cowboys as notorious slow starters, pass-happy Moore probably would have abandoned the run and Air (Pick City) Prescott would have been front and center in the offense. This obvious intentional blown call kept that from happening. Matthew Stafford said it best about AT&T Stadium: "Home cookin'!"

because the ball is out already before he hit the ground. or perhaps it was the wrong call. bad calls happen in NFL.

regardless... you start a post about a possible fumble and bad call, which ended back in Schultz possession anyway....moot point. who cares? even if it was a fumble, it was recovered by the cowboys!!!

what's your point?

BS.
If that Colts player gave up on the play as soon as he heard the whistle, which I doubt very much. Then he should be off the team.
Dalton was down, come on, man.

Knee down before the ball came out.
He recovered the ball so it would not have mattered.

It was not out before he hit the ground. The video stops at the point he hit the ground and the ball is in his hands but it is in the process of slipping out. Just like here. More folks denying plain video. Not surprised.

Did no one else notice that he was the one with the ball in his hands when all was said and done?

These types of breaks happen every Sunday. Sometimes you benefit sometimes you don’t. But to say it would have changed the game you clearly don’t know that. The talent difference between both teams is too big and even if the fumble happened the odds are huge Dallas would have still won. If this was a close game against a very good team then you have a point.

1. Knee down before ball came out.
2. He got the ball back.

Not sure why this is even a thing. There's a reason Indy didn't challenge. He got the ball back at that spot. Nothing would have changed.

Got a clip of the Colts guy bouncing on the ball with two hands and having clear recovery before he just dropped it so Schultz could then possess it?

Most of the clips in this thread don't show that. So I am generally curious what happened here.

Is this the thread where people out themselves as having drafted Indy's D for their fantasy team?
