Dallas mailed it in drafting Schoon. In doing so, they essentially stated they needed a blocking TE. One would think that psition could have been filled later in the draft. But so be it.

However, when you see Steele, still working through his knee issues from late last year, and understanding he will not be right until sometime next season.

Why the "casual sexual congress" didn't the coaching staff move Schoon over by Steele to protect the guy throwing the ball?

Especially late in the game.

if he had dropped the ball as he hit the ground it would not have been a catch. Similarly, I don’t thing his knee drag should be counted until it is deemed a catch. No sour grapes here. We lost when we had the opportunity to win. I just don’t like the rule.
That would make too much sense, but, yah, I agree with you on the knee drag. How can you be down when you haven't taken possession of the ball yet?

Don’t know why Dak even went to Schoonmaker on such a critical play. He hasn’t doesn’t crap all season.

Yeah. Ok.

But the rule is don’t tackles before the ball is there. That’s clear.

But yea. Good observation that doesn’t change the facts of what happened.
He caught the ball, yes it appears that he was interfered with, but if he had first run the route past the goal line the interference would have had no effect on the score. If we're going to depend on the refs to make calls so we can get a touchdown, we're going to be disappointed more often than not.

Players can't control what the ref does or doesn't call, they need to execute, before anything else.

That was clearly PI.

He was down before he caught the ball because the Philly defender was already tackling him.

Refs were awful today.

And neither of the commentators pointed that out.

I'm beginning to believe these conspiracy theories about the NFL playing a major influence in the outcomes of games for sports betting purposes.
Hilarious they looked at the replay...ruled the ball out...but didn;t see Shoon draped before the ball came in.

Well..not really hilarious. More like pathetic. Sickening even. Can;t get any more blatant than that.

Yes. We need to do our jobs better and so do refs. It wasn’t really a close one. Seeing a man tackle a player well before the ball gets to him should be easy to see. Somehow it wasn’t.

There are always mistakes and things we need to do better, but I expect the people in charge of enforcing the rules to be close to mistake free and at the very least get obvious calls correct. They are paid well and must be better.

Ignoring the talking before getting the ball part...why are we running plays shy of the endzone?

That's some JG stupidity
Because you didn’t watch the play. Dak was almost sacked with pressure coming from the left side. He had to get it away before he wanted to.

this could have been a ticky tacky call. but the issue was schoonmaker as a rookie. you cross the goal line and set your self up. there is always a chance you get tackled and pushed back before crossing. this was a rookie mistake. the goal line is like the first down marker. you have to get passed it.

This was a huge play. I'd rather have Ferguson running that route in that moment but the refs stayed on code and swallowed their whistle on another clear pi.

The Eagles were beaten up after the game. They are limping into the bye. They have a brutal schedule. We have an easier 1. If we TCB and they falter again, we will get a chance at redemption in Dallas. I still think Hurts is much more injured than we are being told. Now Dallas Goedert is out. Broken arm. They are beginning to take on water.

Could’ve just signed Mercedes Lewis if you needed a reliable stopgap at blocking TE for a season.

the play is there. it was designed that way. Ferguson was suppose to clear the saftey, which he did. the personnel grouping is on the coaches. schoon and fergi roles should have been reversed at best.

also Schoon should have crossed the goal line in his route. rookie mistake.

The nfl is an entertainment league. No need to take it seriously. It's clear the refs are being used to control games to help push narratives. Rams first become a team in LA and win a superbowl. Jerome Bettis retires and wins a superbowl that year. Tom Brady wins a Superbowl going to his new team, the Bucs. Ray Lewis wins a superbowl the year he retires.

I could understand if calls were missed on BOTH sides, but the refs let the Eagles play while hosing the Cowboys with big penalties. They were clearly instructed to ref with an agenda tonight. No way you can see the Schoon 'holding' but not the holding on Parsons. No way you pick up the flag on hands to the face after you saw the Eagles got the sack. There is clearly a reffing problem and all of this 'just play better' talk is nonsense. The league has long had a problem that needs to be addressed.

That is never called a PI. Every contested catch in the NFL the defender has his hand on the receiver’s hip.

“It is pass interference by either team when any act by a player more than one yard beyond the line of scrimmage significantly hinders an eligible player’s opportunity to catch the ball.”

His hand in his hip is not significantly hindering his opportunity to catch the ball. Evidence of that is the fact that Schoon caught the ball.

Defenders are 100% allowed to make contact with the receiver and this exact thing happens all the time with no call.
