Like I mentioned before heads will roll because of this. Thus the reason why there is damage control being done at a national scale. However, people aren't buying. Some people do though. They think that what comes out from the media is the truth and nothing but the truth. I think that your one of those that are blinded by what the media is saying and thus trying to justify their position.
You're just ranting. You have a script you concoct in your own mind, and you follow that script regardless of the facts. But let address a few of your points:
1. When you say heads will roll, what do you mean? Is someone going to get fired? Is someone going to get demoted? Who? When has this happened before? Or, I should say, when, after making a controversial call, has this happened in professional football?
2. I believe what the media say? Huh?
What are you talking about? What are the media saying? Some in the media say the call should have been a catch. Some in the media say the overturned call was correct based on the current rule. When did this become an issue about the media? Sometimes, I think people are so programmed to argue "It's the media's fault" they do so without even understanding what the issue is.
3. What is my position? My position here is that the Dallas fans are acting exactly like the Detroit fans did last week. That is
FACTUAL.
But I have to say. Your on the wrong side of this argument. That was a catch pure and simple. Whatever the media and the networks are saying is nothing more than a scripted damage control message which some of the naive are believing. Go ahead and call me names as believing in conspiracies. Never said that this was a conspiracy. This is a combination of factors from the Lions game debacle. Read my other postings about that.
1. I'm on the wrong side of the argument? I'm sorry, but did the league apologize like it did last week or previous times when it got a call wrong on the field and later, upon review, corrected that call officially with an announcement from the league office?
2. Who determines right or wrong in this case? Uh, the league. Not you. Not me. But the league. If there is no authority to determine right and wrong, particularly as it relates to the interpretation of rules, then your opinion is just as valid as another person's opinion. But that's not how these things are decided. We have referees. We have a league that evaluates the job referees do. And
THEY have the final say as to what is right and what is wrong. So you can say all you'd like I'm wrong. The people in
AUTHORITY have ruled it was not a catch. And their ruling is
BINDING. PERIOD.
3. Good luck tying together this call being in any way influenced by what happened in the Lions game. You have no evidence. Merely suspicions.
So in conclusion, I just feel sorry for you. That you have to believe in the lie that the media is putting out and that this is the exact thing they want you to believe. Its not eh truth and nothing more than lies. But thats okay with me.
No, you don't feel sorry for me. You feel sorry for yourself, that you can't let go the fact that the call had a major impact on the Cowboys losing the game. And because you are so hurt by it, you have to find a way to justify why the Cowboys loss. But, back to my original point, your attitude and position are similar to what the Lions fans were saying last week. They were saying the league had it in for the Lions and wanted the Cowboys to advance because they're partial to Dallas.
Oh, and I'll be okay so don't feel sorry for me, not that you do. I don't take loses personally anymore. I understand that whenever humans are involved, they can do marvelous things, and they can make mistakes. I understand that my team can't win every game. I understand that my team sometimes benefits from good calls and gets punished by bad calls. I understand this dynamic enough not to let it disrupt my world and have me searching for conspiracies under every bush.
It's called
MATURITY.
