Not really because a pass rush makes a CB look better and we have a shut down corner in TNew.

Our CBs looked a lot better the first half of the season when Ellis wasn't injured. And Ellis was having a pro bowl type year. Taking him out killed our defense. Not bad secondary coverage. When the QB gets all day to throw you can have the best DBs ever out there and they will get ripped.

Having a strong pass rush fixes many problems within our offense....

If gives less time for teams to expose James, Ayodele, and Williams... And thus teams have to run... and with Williams allowed to be near the line (thanks to hamlin), its going to be hard to run on James, Ayodele, and Williams.

I bet if you look at the rankings the first 8 or 9 games when Ellis was healthy the pass yards weren't evenclose to the 219 it ended up being. And teams efficiency ratings were probably the worst in the NFL the first however many games with Ellis. With Ellis out of there teams had all day to throw and could expose any weaknesses a defense.

pass defense doesn't only depend on the CB's and safeties. We need a pass rush. Last I checked, we drafted someone to generate that pass rush, so quit whining.

This looks to be one of the worst drafts we've had in a while.

This is the fear many of us had. With Bill gone, Jerry just couldn't help it.

Instead of drafting the players we need, he decided to trade draft picks.

The result

- Another OLB [we already have Ware and Carp and Ellis]
- Another OT, who won't start

- No help for the secondary, where a 24th Ranked Pass defense only gets worse.
