what he said

TO= zero championships, and couldnt even help a team that had made three straight NFC title games win a super bowl

Pats, Steelers= teams without TO-like players, have won 4 of last 5 championships

David

Like him or hate him...Owens wasn't the reason Philly lost to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Yeah, you're right, TO didn't help at all in that game.

the point was they had made 3 previous NFC Title games, signed TO and then still didnt get over the hump

and they actually got further with him on the bench...he missed the NFC playoffs and they still won those

True, but like I said in another thread: If you question his work ethic and his on-field production, I question your motives. It's easy to just say he sucks, blahblahblah, but.. he doesn't suck.

Is he a complete *******? No question about it.

But he's also a Top 3 WR in this league, and would make us have one of the most dangerous offenses in the league.

That's just how I'm looking at it, though I'm in the category of "don't really know how I feel" in regards to having TO on the Cowboys.

I actually have no problem with Rosenhaus. His clients have made up their mind beforehand that they want a deal, so they sign him as their agent to get that deal. He's not like Scott Boras because he'll get his client a good deal, but won't kill his team's payroll in the process.

If I was a rather high profile NFL star, Drew Rosenhaus would be on the very top of my list of agents I'd want.

They came very close to winning the Super Bowl...Because of him not inspite of him.

Half the team was behind Owens...So He couldn't be all bad.

The better question is, why would a Dallas fan want him?

Yes, because of the star incident, but that's only part of it.

Look at the discord and negative press he brings with him as baggage. Why isn't that painfully obvious as something we don't want in Dallas?

The Patriots were the better team in the Superbowl against the Eagles ...and just barely!

Actually, the 2005 Cowboys were better than the 2004 Patriots ...but that wasn't a reason why you guys didn't make it into the playoffs in either year.

The only thing you would have to wonder is if there are enough footballs to go around. Even if we dump Key or Glenn(I don't believe either will happen), I don't know that a combination of TO and Key, or TO and Glenn could co-exist. IMO, the three would definately not work out. And that isn't even bringing Witten into the picture. He would definately lose out in any TO scenario to Dallas..

Soooooooo.. GO KC!! GET TO... purdy please ;)

I told you Hos...people in your forum are eaten up with "big name-itis"

they think any big name, regardless of age, off field history, lockerroom issues, or declining skills would be a huge upgrade here and put the team over the top

this even though they have clear cut proof right in our own division (Commanders, Eagles) that just because you add a few big names, doesnt transform you into a championship team

The Pats and Steelers are the real model of how to win now and despite 4 championships in 5 yrs, people here still want to re-invent the wheel

As I type this, only 2 teams have a higher CAP figure than the Commanders, the Chiefs and the Ray-duhs. I don't think the Chiefs can afford TO unless they release their whole OL.

While I think the star incident showed disrespect that has little to do with why I do not want TO. As far as I'm concerned any player who slams teammates to the media is not a person I want on the team. That does nothing but create a divide in the locker-room and I think teams with these type of issue taking place makes it hard for the team to overcome. Add to that once something like that happens the media will not let it die down they will continue to prod and probe the incident. I want this Cowboys team focused on winning not some BS that is caused by a loud mouth who has managed to create the same problems on both teams he has played on.

That game could have gone either way...Just one wrong bounce of the ball for the Patriots and the Eagles win that game...with big help from Owens again NOT In spite of him.

..that TO to Dallas is a strong possibility and that whether or not it would work would be up to Key.

I have little doubt that BP could handle TO and get him to play for us.

If Key is the team player he says he is..it will work.

If he isn't, then it won't.

Then out of courtesy, Dallas might let him shop his services to other teams and a trade could be worked out for him if needed.

But frankly, if Key really wants to be a team player, then he'll subjigate his feeling and continue being a leader for BP and he'll get a shot at another SB Ring before it's all over.

If he really plays it smart, he'll negotiate an extension on his current deal while Dallas has the cap room and secure his future for another 2 years with Dallas and not have to deal with the uncertainty of being released or not resigned at the end of this year.

That would make it all possible and more affordable and it's a Win-Win deal.

I think BP will do whatever he thinks is in the best interest of the Cowboys winning.

We've seen that in all his moves so far. I haven't always agreed with all of them, but most of what he's done has been satisfactory in the longrun.

Whoever signs TO will be thinking that WR is their biggest area of concern to get to the next level, just as the Iggles did.

Is that a description of us..? To many, yes. But to BP, probably No.

So we'll see.

Affordability is not always counted in dollars and cents my good man.

For the sake of the Cowboys I hope like hell KC takes TO. Not wanted and not needed in Dallas. If you want to add to the WR core then go after one in the draft instead of paying for a WR for 1 year in hopes that he can get through the season without incident.
