I think Key would be the least of our worries to be honest, because he has always put team ahead of himself while he's been with us.

I distinctly remember hearing him say in an interview, after a game we just won and he only got a catch or two, that he doesn't care what's going on as long as the team is winning. Of course he wants to be a competitor, but I think a WR corps of TO/Glenn/KJ would be pretty damn good.

I told you Hos...people in your forum are eaten up with "big name-itis"

they think any big name, regardless of age, off field history, lockerroom issues, or declining skills would be a huge upgrade here and put the team over the top

this even though they have clear cut proof right in our own division (Commanders, Eagles) that just because you add a few big names, doesnt transform you into a championship team

The Pats and Steelers are the real model of how to win now and despite 4 championships in 5 yrs, people here still want to re-invent the wheel

David
There are times when acquiring the big name makes sense. Deion comes to mind immediately.

In my opinion TO in Dallas does not make sense. Yes, he's a very talented player. His best days are also behind him.

We need to address WR. I think it would be a huge mistake to address it with someone who will not mentor young WRs and I think it's a mistake not to look at young WRs instead.

Address WR in the Draft rather than acquire TO and be forced to cut Key or Glenn. I'm not even a big fan of either one of them. Anyone who thinks all 3 could stay on this team and pull together is simply not dealing in reality.

The NFL is not Fantasy Football, nor is it Madden Football.

Speaking from experience, TO to a team other than Dallas could be a blessing in disguise. Couple of things I picked up in my travels...http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

The recent three-way labor strife between the NFL, its owners, and the players' union nudged the status of receiver Terrell Owens from the front burner of media consciousness. Now that a deal is done, we see it as both a positive and a negative for T.O.

On the bright side, any team interested in his services will have $7.5 million in additional 2006 cap money to use in order to sign him.

On the other hand, the displacement of the onerous rules of the last capped year under the old agreement will make it easier for teams to use incentives and other creative devices to ensure that the maximum performance will be coaxed out of him in his first year with his new team.

Under the old system, all incentives would have hit the cap in 2006 at the moment they were earned, forcing a team to either hold back cap space or to be prepared to cut players once the incentives were reached. Now, any "not likely to be earned" incentives will get pushed into 2007, if achieved in 2006.

The end result likely will be less money in hand for Owens, but more money dangling in front of him, like a gleaming carrot on a string luring the dope forward.

This approach will give the team that signs him protection against a reprise of the extreme and deliberate turdishness that prompted his divorce from the Eagles. But, in our view, forcing Owens to earn his money might not be the best way to get him to perform. The better course is to ensure that Owens genuinely believes he's being fairly and adequately paid. If he's happy with his money, he'll play more like the guy who was a shot of cattle steroids for an otherwise mediocre Eagles passing game upon his arrival in 2004 -- and less like the guy who helped wreck the team's chances in 2005.

As to the Eagles, we predict that team president Joe Banner has at least toyed with the possibility of using that $7.5 million salary cap bump to pay the bonus money due to T.O. later this month in order to force Owens to honor his contract.

Coincidentally, the money owed to Owens within the first 15 days after the start of the 2006 league year is, you guessed it, $7.5 million.

In the end, however, there's no way the Eagles will keep him. If the team learned anything in 2005, it's that sometimes principle must yield to other objectives, such as creating an environment that permits you to win more games than you lose.

I agree with TooHostile.

I think WR needs to be addressed. But adding TO isn't necessarily the way to go about it. He's 32 years old.....and while he would add talent to our roster, he'd only make us older.

Of course, there isn't ONE WR in this draft that I think would be a good pick at number 18.

Maybe next year is the year we should draft a WR.

I dont hate TO. I’ll leave the hate to the rest of you. I think when you get down to it...i want the Cowboys to win another Super Bowl. We need a big time playmaker on offense. I think the Bledsoe/Owens combo could be deadly at least for one season. The star thing is the past and really, i wouldnt mind seeing TO go to the star one more time after a TD. ;)
And if a blow up happens on the sidelines...couldnt be any worse when what we saw with Keyshawn trying to attack the starting QB. Happy to have contributed today.

Disputes will take place between players happens fairly often however you don't shoot your mouth off to ESPN or any other idiot with a mic which is exactly what TO has done on 2 different teams. You have an issue keep it in the locker room which is what Bledsoe and Key did neither man made an issue of it after the fact.

After reading many threads and wondering if Terrell Owens could wear the Star next year I'm starting to think it might be a good match. I personally can't stand the guy but I want argue hes one of the top four Receivers in the NFL. After pondering about this I could see Terry Glenn, Keshawn Johnson and Terrell Owens forming a trio of Receivers for Bledsoe that gives teams fits and would be very hard to defense. If a Terrell Owens signing is in the Cowboys future than fixing the Offensive Line just became more important to allow Bledsoe the time to find his open target. In actuality the Signing of Terrell Owens, Jerald Sowell at Fullback and two Offensive Lineman this team could be knocking on the door next season. There are still a couple of quirks that need fixed on the DEfensive side of the ball and I think they can with the coming draft. Especially at Outside Linebacker and Free Safety that would be my first two picks. I think where this team is heading especially with the age of several players and Parcell at the end of his career, why not go for the Superbowl, but to get there Terrell might be needed.

Misleading title. I just signed on and thought perhaps this was news. Why not just post this is one of the other TO threads?

For the sake of the Cowboys I hope like hell KC takes TO. Not wanted and not needed in Dallas. If you want to add to the WR core then go after one in the draft instead of paying for a WR for 1 year in hopes that he can get through the season without incident.

.......on the money! Let KC have him!

Because they look at it from 1 side which is the guy has talent. Myself I see the talent of TO but I also see his downside and that downside to me is not worth it.
