Inventory on the upcoming offseason...

We know now that Dallas will likely have two of the top 38 draft picks in May, including a top five pick, and a host of compensatory picks.

But also, the Cowboys can create over $40 million in cap space. Cap hell is largely over.

Time to be shrewd, opportunistic, ballsy, and measured, all in the correct amounts.

Will McClay needs to be at his dead-level best.

The team is very talented and the cap situation is very good. The biggest concern and frankly the one the Cowboys organization really has zero control over is whether or not Tony Romo can be counted on to play the majority of next season and be there for the playoffs.

Without Romo, none of these other things matter.

True, but I think we're overly concerned about a collar bone. He rushed it, plain and simple. Had to.

Romo, Luck, Flacco, Hoyer, Peyton, Roethlisberger, Brees, Bradford, Foles, Taylor, and last year Palmer, Rodgers, Tannehill....

Quarterbacks get hurt.

Other than Scandrick and BJones in the secondary, that area isn't very talented. Dez hasn't been Dez, and our other wr's can't separate consistently. We need more speed there. We need a rt to replace Free. If Hardy leaves, then we need more help at DE/DT. We will still need to upgrade DT.

I think there plenty of opportunity to fill those needs and you can bet a big time safety is coming to Dallas.

We have the chance to get right back in it next year. Like you said the cap if fine and we can spend on a few positions(Weddle, Berry, CB, QB2) and we can draft a few positions(RB, OT, LB, QB1).

Collins, RGregory and BJones have shown good progress this year and with Romo back for a couple more years and a last place schedule we can make a move.

And the exact same applies to every team and QB in the League. There is no certainty.

Good point on the schedule. No Carolina or Arizona next year. We get San Fran and Tampa.

Jerrah ought to blow this mess of a team up. Fire the FO, including his family members and hire real football people to reassemble the team. And then Jerrah needs to stay out of it. Will it happen? Heck no it won't happen. He thinks, as many on this forum do that the core of this team still has great potential. To those that have that mind set... get use to watching video of Super Bowls past because that's the only ones you will be seeing involving the Dallas Cowboys.

Troy isnt the only one who dwells in the past . . . .

Erod, your post gave me some hope for next year, so I wanted to see who they played.

HomeDivision and Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, Cincinnati, NFC South same position finisher - Currently Saints
AwayDivision and Green Bay, Minnesota, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, NFC West same position finisher - Currently 49ers

Now I'm not sure it matters who they play.
