The thing about Purdy is he is small

Nice try but Purdy has only been the QB in 9 of those games.. Garopolo started the first 5 of the streak. So the TEAM has won 14 in a row.. but he has not been the QB the whole time. Lending further credence to the idea that maybe it's not HIM that is ballin out. They might just be a really REALLY good team. Again not saying he sucks or anything but that team figured some things out about week 6 or 7 last season when they hit bottom being blown out by KC. They haven't looked back since.. Purdy is riding a wave that was gathering steam before he ever got his surfboard out of the car. Good for him.. I hope our defense eats him alive.
I stand corrected. Its 9 games. Which ironically doesnt change the narrative.

Purdy has won 9 games in a row regular season and at some point your going to have to admit he is legit.

While he has proven me wrong so far, I just have a hard time thinking the 49ers just tripped and fell into this "next Tom Brady" with the very last pick in the draft. I'm not saying it's impossible, just unlikely. I know he is a product of the Shanahan offense, but I would love to see what he would look like if he had to put the team on his back. So far he has a lot of weapons around him that carry a lot of that burden.

I haven't made my mind up about anything. I'm just done with the pom pom boys. I don't want to hear you tell me, I want the Cowboys to show me.
I'm not sure it was so much readying excuses as it was acknowledging that there are things to exploit, and means to regress to and using our guys as a reference point. at least that's how I took it. those percentages don't seem sustainable.

Let's hip-drop tackle Purdy from behind and injure him the way they did to our Tony Pollard! Fair is Fair. They owe us!

Do to them as they have done unto us!
That tackle needs to be outlawed, as many people got season Ending injuries from that, Dak , Alex smith etc..

I never wish injuries on opponents or our players but am Open to hitting Purdy early and often so that he is imagining foot steps and misfires all game . :muttley:

Not sure why you keep trying to create an argument no one has made. No one has said he's not legit. In fact most people clearly acknowledge he has been really good. What we don't know yet is if he's great. And that honestly won't happen until he's asked to do more than he has been. But plenty of QBs have won rings without being great. Their rings are just as shiny as the great ones.

By this logic, Joe Montana the 49er was never great, and neither was Troy Aikman.

Purdy's production hasn't been "very good," by the way. It's been absolutely elite. If he keeps it up, he is elite.

He doesn't need to "do more" than what he's already done. If he keeps playing EXACTLY the same way he's been playing, then he's a monster.

You would've hated Joe Montana.

Agree. If dude keeps winning and playing well the media will eventually stop bringing up his draft position too

Our defense needs to do what no other defense has managed to do, which is rattle this guy in the pocket and make him look like the same guy we saw at Iowa state.

Dude stop it.. Montana had multiple 4 TD playoff games and if I'm not mistaken a 5 TD Super Bowl game for good measure. He won a Super Bowl on a team whose leading rusher had 550 yards. I believe Troy had a 4 TD Super Bowl of his own as well. There were times when those two were asked to do more than drive the bus.. and they responded.. Not always.. but enough to confirm that they were great QBs in their own right. Purdy has not been asked to do that. Well he has.. once against Philly.. and the result was he got knocked out of the game. If that happens every time he plays a team that can get to him then no, he is not a great QB. Very good, yes, but not great, not elite. At some point he is going to have to do more.. It might not happen for 2-3 years when some of his weapons or his line starts to get old.. or it might happen next week when C-Mac gets hurt. We won't know until we see it. And to this point we haven't. You want to anoint him go ahead.. I'm content to wait.

Sorry but this sentiment is emanating from your own mind. I have stated on multiple occasions that I think Purdy is VERY good. And that the reason I am examining what we can do to limit him is that I DO consider him to be VERY good. If I thought he was Daniel Jones I'd spend all week talking about McCaffrey and Kittle.

Keep moving those goalposts!!!

"Team that can get to him"?

Nobody touched Troy with the Great Wall in front of him. When they did, Troy struggled.

But now Purdy has to dominate with trash around him to prove his worth? Something literally no QB does? Sure, dude!

Is Patrick Mahomes the only "elite QB" in the league because he's the only one with a Super Bowl win, besides Stafford?

Purdy has a 110 passer rating in the regular season and a 110 passer rating in the playoffs. That's not elite QB play? He's not elite if he somehow keeps that up for years and years?
