I care about winning. Period. I am anxiously waiting for anyone to tell me that this team does not have talent assembled. Because that is the job of the GM. None of you who are tilting at windmills with this nonsense can deny that. Or maybe you can, but that wouldn't exactly make you look smart in the eyes of people who actually get it.
You guys seem to think that changing name plates on doors means the players will play better. That's nothing but a load of crap.
You know what the funniest thing about this childish tantrum is? You guys actually believe that Jerry Jones is going to step aside and not have any input in the football operations if he hires a GM. Let me explain the real world to you for a second. Not only is he not going to hire a GM, but even if by some miracle he did, and you guys got your wish, he would still have input on the operations of this team. Sorry to pop your balloons. It was such a nice pity party though.
I hate to tell you Don Quixote wannabes the truth, but there it is. Our GM is one of the few people doing his job. Hate the man all you want. Believe that he is some kind of albatross. Me, I'll stick with the facts in the real world because there are no curses or bad juju or voodoo that has been placed on this team causing it to lose because of who we have as the GM.
In case that wasn't clear enough, here it is again in plain simple English. Teams do not lose because of a GM. They lose because other teams are better or because they failed to execute. GMs do not have a Madden controller and are up in their box selecting the plays that are going to be run. They don't instruct the QB to throw an INT at a crucial time in the game against the eventual Super Bowl Champion. They assemble the talent for the staff to go to war. Period.
The identity of the GM of a football team has never, ever translated to wins and losses on a football field. How he does his job of acquiring talent does. That is the fact and it is irrefutable.
I now return you to your fantasies, pity parties, and sour grapes diets. No charge for the lesson in reality.
You really are clueles aren't you.
So you think Jerry is doing a great job because he throws a lot of money at over-priced free agents? Just like the Yankees and they aren't winning anything either
Well tell me something, since you're so smart and all. What does Jerry have to show for his great GMing?
What does he have to show for this great job he's doing? A couple of division titles and no playoffs wins in over 10 years.
I will agree with you on one thing. Yes the GM's job is acquiring talent and he shouldn't be responsible for the play of the players. HOWEVER, we're not talking about a normal GM. We're talking about meddlesome Jerry freaking Jones.
This GM won't even empower his coaches to discipline players as they see fit. He's always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. Name me another GM/Owner that is at every freaking press conference doing interviews for everything from his thoughts on the game to a players' injury status for an upcoming game. Save your time because you can't.
How do you expect the coaching staff to corral and force the players to buckle down when the GM/Owner is coddling the hell out of them?
But hey, go ahead and keeping supporting the clueless idiot. Just don't complain 15 years from now when we're staring at 30 straight years w/o a title in the face.
