I don't hate him. I hate that we wasted a 4th round pick and most likely $5M+ this year and we gave that ammo to the Niners who is on top of the NFC.

We traded for a guy at the end of camp - stupid.

We traded for a QB whose contract expires the same time as Dak's - stupid.

We have to make a $5M decision with little to no time to evaluate him - stupid.

If we resign Dak, what was the point - stupid.

Every part of this trade was completely stupid.
Yes you do hate him. You know he can be better than Dak, which is what we need.

I think it is hilarious that some fans think you can play 1 year at a low level college and be ready to play in the NFL, by watching for 4+ years.
Tom brady was a back up at Michigan and was a 6th round pick. I am sure many thought he was just a shot in the dark as well.
If not for Bledsoe getting injured. He probably never would have had his chance for several more years if not more.

Many low level school QB's were pretty good.

I mean Tony Romo, from a small college, he and Dak are basically the same, and neither are horrible, except playoff time.

And I never said he could play. I said he needs time to show he can in MM's system. This is why I want to see what he can do in PS games. Then I will go from there.

Not even close to the same coming out of college.

Not even close to the same going into college.

Agree, the guy severely lacks game reps, but you're going the complete opposite extreme. It's not crazy to believe that a player can get better spending a few years working scout team, working with the positional coach, and studying from afar....especially guys with less college experience. The truth is somewhere in the middle. The plug and play QB model is largely not going anywhere simply because GMs/coaches typically are not given multiple years to let a rookie develop in order to keep their job, but I'd be very curious to see the actual numbers behind success rates of QBs who start day 1 and those who sit to start their career. Going off strictly memory alone it seems like guys who sit end up with lower bust rates, but I have no actual data to support that and there could be a number of reasons for that even if it is true.

Meh. 4th round vs 6th. It’s really not that big of a deal.

You get a talented player who may or may not be something. That’s all you can hope for in the 4th round anyway.

How did Romo fail come playoff time? I keep asking people that say this, and I never get a reply.

"may or may not be"?

That is true.

But you and others...mostly huge Dak....er...fans.....say Trey is a failed bust waste of space. Even got nickname for him to share like a secret handshake code.

What else do you want. They lost just like they did with Dak. The entire team failed.
How was Romo successful in the playoffs?
Okay....if you are satisfied with such broad generalities, going in seems pointless. Have a great rest of your day!

Is Jerry aware of that? If it’s not time to move on from Dak now, when will it be?
We will see after this season. Dak is not going anywhere unless he requests a trade.
Unless new deal is worked our before game 1.

He “failed” only in the sense of wins/losses. As far as play, he was much better than TO Dak. Honestly, all the people who called Romo a choker deserve the former as a result. What’s that saying again? “You don’t know what you got till it’s gone.” Romo had 8-2 TD/INT in the playoffs and one of INTs came on the last play of the game in a desperation throw to win it.

Lances vrs Dak during college

Lance at trained by Randy Hedberg, nfl qb
And played in a pro set, scheme, under center,

.played the game, ....didnt just run a play.

Vrs Dak...from a scheme that just taught him to stare down a particular player at a particular time. He has never really broken free of that habit under pressure, and playoff caliber teams D can exploit that.
