If Lance had any chance at being good the 49ers never would have got rid of him. They paid too much to get him. They realized they made a mistake and cut their losses. Something we never do.
They needed to get Lance out of the way, they had no time for him.

The reason I still can’t make sense of it is even if he shows any signs at all of being any good, they are going to have to pay him immediately.

Anyone who figures he is the equivalent of this years fourth round pick is missing that part of it. There’s no rookie deal here. That’s over. I mean, unless they are ready to fully roll with him this year. Even then, gotta pay him next year if he is worth keeping at all.

It just doesn’t add up and that’s because there is no actual plan that makes sense. It was simply Jerry playing with his toy and it was worth a fourth rounder to him to boast over how having him in charge is such an advantage and that he did it all by himself.

I mean, let’s be real about it. This was no master plan.

If Lance had any chance at being good, he would have been promoted to the 48-man roster as the 2nd string last year after spending 5 months, "Learning the System"

They should start now so they can get the hang of it.
That reminds me of an old story. Back when I was a young whippersnapper, I was working in a foundry with most older guys. We'd talk about drinking and such and I ask them how they could finish a bottle in 2 days.

Ya drink half now and half later...SIMPLE!

One guy said...well do ya drink now? I said yuuuppp.

He said ....Welp...you'll find out.

And so it came to pass. I got the hang of it.

No one knows that for sure.
TB thought the same of Steve Young. Look what he went on and accomplished.

No.
So playoff push time, and the playoffs. You want a QB that had no TC, only reps, and probably not many for practices during the season. Which is a time you do not install stuff. Over a QB that knows the system and had won games for the team in Rush.

Now you want to make him 2nd string to try to win a game if Dak goes down. If you are not in the playoffs, or hunt for them, that is when you promote him.

Only way you rush a player into the system is if all your QB options are done.
They went through that when Romo was injured, and ended up forcing Cassell to learn on the fly, and he was experienced. We seen those results.

The question is when will Lance get his chance?
A chance for Lance, a chance for Lance.
When will see a chance for Lance to dance.
There isn't a question. It is a fact that he will play in the preseason.

He had a whole lot more playing experience then Lance is going to get. TB was an awful organization. They were one of the worst teams in the league. Young had a lot of respect when he was drafted. It was like Aikman with those 1989 Cowboys. He was always going to get another chance. SF is a contender who gave up the moon to get Lance and gave up on him fairly fast. And it wasn't like Lance was replaced by some great QB.

There were other circumstances as to why they traded him. It was not because he could not play. As no one truly knows that yet.

5 MONTHS IN A NEW SYSTEM IS NOT ENOUGH FOR A NUMBER 3 PICK?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Not during the middle of a season when you are trying to get into the playoffs.

Stop with the huge fonts, it is annoying. It makes your point you are attempting worthless.

Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch think Lance won’t cut it in the NFL.

Jerry and Stephen Jones do.

It’s cute to have hope. Lord knows I’m as guilty as anyone…but honestly who is more likely to be right in that equation?

Again, fans think there’s some grand plan here when it was just Jerry wanting to do something like play GM, and my he was awfully proud of himself over it.
