Lance broke his throwing hand and then his leg.

That's why SF GM was shopping Lance that Spring.

Jimmy G was gone and they lucked into Purdy. (btw, Purdy was terrible in that SB.)

It's not about Lance's ability to play QB.

Plenty of video on Lance making plays.

Be thankful we have the kid.

He's our ticket out of this mess with Dak and the jacked up salary cap.

Why do you posting that blatantly false injury history?

August 29, 2021___Lance suffered a right index finger injury in a preseason game v. Raiders.
The injury didn't prevent him from playing in the season opener against the Lions, or week 3 v. Packers.
Lance relieved injured starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo in week 4 v. Seahawks.

Oct. 10, 2021___Starting QB Lance suffered a left knee sprain week 5 v. Cardinals ...but he played the entire game.
He was out for week 6 bye and week 7 game v. Colts.
Started week 17 v. Texans after Garoppolo was injured the game before.

Sept. 10, 2022__Week 2 - Starting QB Lance suffered a pedal ankle dislocation/fracture v. Seahawks, that ended his season.

No broken hand.
No broken leg.

Divided? Who wanted Trance to start in SF?

Do you mean divided for the back up job?
1 We weren't in the locker room. 2 The media, fans all would be stirring the pot if Purdy were to struggle. It doesn't matter that Darnold was named the back up, he is not a threat to take Purdy's job. They were trading either or after the starter was named. That's football 101.
Not a great example, but after Aikman beat out Walsh. Walsh was shipped out.

There wasn’t going to be a divided locker room with a 3rd year QB who had a 2-2 record and was coming off an injury. Lance was given an opportunity to compete for the starting job and ended up the third QB. He wasn’t happy with the situation and the 49ers realized they gambled and lost with him. The 49ers would have to make a decision on Lance's fifth-year option following the 2023 season, but because he was redshirted his rookie season and injured in year 2, he had very limited tape and SF had little faith in him. The 49ers and Shanahan likely weren't going to waste another window-season trying to figure out what they had or didn't have in him and decided to trade him.
Ok buddy, you are 100% right. Not really, your OPINION is no more valid then mine.
And I still say which ever of two that lost the starting job was getting shipped. Not good business to keep both because you can't control a locker room, fans, or the media, you don't wanting your young starter looking over his shoulder, period.
I will add this Trey's progress may be the reason the Jone's aren't rushing to extend Dak. Time will tell.

Is that why we have a QB controversy with our divided locker room in Dallas?

Some of what I gave is opinion and the rest came from those who cover the 49ers. As for Lance’s progress the Joneses haven’t seen him on the field in game situations with the Cowboys. They won’t know anything about his progress until he plays in games.

He also missed practice after earning the 3rd string position out of 3 players.

Why do you hate the guy so much? We haven't even seen him throw a pass here.
I don't hate him. I hate that we wasted a 4th round pick and most likely $5M+ this year and we gave that ammo to the Niners who is on top of the NFC.

We traded for a guy at the end of camp - stupid.

We traded for a QB whose contract expires the same time as Dak's - stupid.

We have to make a $5M decision with little to no time to evaluate him - stupid.

If we resign Dak, what was the point - stupid.

Every part of this trade was completely stupid.

This is why it was hilarious to hear the comments about McCarthy is working with him and being a QB whisperer.

McCarthy was working with Dak 95% of the time. Then Rush the other 5%.

3rd string QB's that missed camp get zero, zilch, nada - attention.

A real GM would know this!!!!

Trance should be on a team that does not know who their starting QB is going to be. He needs a massive amount of reps to catch up. Regardless of how young and athletic he is, he has wasted a lot of time and you can't make up those reps.

It’s hilarious for any fan to think Lance has shown something since he arrived in Dallas to make the Joneses reconsider their position on Dak. Lance hasn’t taken a game rep or faced a live pass rush since he was traded.

What have you seen that he can't?

Lack of seeing things..is proof of things?

Well...I suppose SOMETIMES. Just should have caution about it.
