Thank you. That was everything I wanted to know and more.Kristi;2573453 said:The ramp/lift underneath doesn't clear any curbs so you can't park next to those. With the 6 inch lift my truck is 7ft tall so parking ramps are usually out, but I don't have any problems with the lift underneath hitting anything. I'm very careful around potholes, dips, etc.
The only problem I have with the lift underneath is SNOW gets packed on it big time and living in South Dakota snow can't be avoided. I try to knock it off as best I can with whatever I can find. I got an ice chunk in it last winter and totally shut down the lift and I was outside of it. They had to pull it apart to get it realigned, etc. Having a lift inside prevents the snow and ice from doing any damage.
You mention the driveshaft, transmission, etc. My truck is only a 2WD. No one believes me when they see the size of my truck, but the 4WD Titan had too much "stuff" (sorry, I'm not a car girl nor do I know terms) for them to be able to convert the 4WD Titan, but they did convert a 4WD Chevy. I just did not like the looks of the Chevy truck at all and my rule of thumb is if I need to use 4WD, than I probably shouldn't be out in that type of weather. Usually, the case is if I could get there in a 4WD, chances are the parking lot, sidewalks, etc. wouldn't be shoveled so I'd still be stuck. It's hard to wheel in snow!!
They do make the conversion in a Dodge Megacab, Chevy, GMC, and I believe they are still doing it in a Suburban. I don't think they will be doing anymore Titans since I think 09 was the last year of production of the Titan if I remember correctly. If you want to know more check out www.rynomobility.com That's MY Titan as one of their models on their page. They are pricey. With all my mods mine was $53,000, but really not that much more than a van and it's WAY cooler looking. That doesn't include the grille and all the other extra mods I bought for him. The people at Ryno are great!
I love my truck, but at times I miss having a van solely for the room they have. Short distances we can do 4 people in the truck, but long distances 3, and it's really uncomfortable for the person who is stuck in the back. It's good for me now as my bf and I are going on a year in March, but one day when I have kids I'll be getting a van. For now, I will enjoy my truck!
