I owned all of those including the collector's editions of those MMOs and all of their expansion boxed releases as well as Ultima Online, original EverQuest, World of Warcraft, Vanguard, Warhammer Online, etc. and all of their boxed expansions as well.Let see what we have here kids, we have some of my all time favorite MMORPG's complete with 100 page manuals, maps, disks, boxes and all sorts of good stuff. Also what you see here are 3 games that were ruined by incompetence, laziness and downright greed.
LOTRO, ruined when it went free to play around 2010. Thanks to Standing Stone games, which can go suck an egg. I still fire the game up occasionally and the magic might last a few days until I get tired of seeing the cash shop.
EQ2/1, ruined by Daybreak games and as above has a cash shop and went FTP years ago. I fired it up last years and it in no way, shape or form compared to the games glory in 2004-2009.
Dark Age of Camelot, originally developed by Mythic and now ran by EA/Broadsword. Played it for a while around 2006-ish and had fun especially with the realm vs realm pvp. Downloaded the free to play version and lost interest after one night, so no way was I subbing for 15 a month for that. I never played ultima online but I believe the general consensus is EA/Broadsword has ruined that as well.
And this is one of my favorite strategy games of all time, the original Medieval Total War, complete with a large manual, tech tree and even includes the CompUSA sticker{remember them?}

I got rid of the boxes and CDs/DVDs in recent years, but I kept all of the contents such as the "one ring" that came with the LoTRo Collector's Edition and all of the EverQuest metal trinkets they included.
I really miss the days when I had all of that free time to play those kinds of games
Well, Xbox officially anounced the Series S. Interesting design with the black fan. Love the price point though. A lot of people now speculating that the Series X could be around $499. Of course, this is all speculation at this point. Nice to see some official news from Microsoft though. Everybody has been so tight lipped about these new console pricing and release dates.

Excellent game, so glad I gave it a try after a absolutely being lost and confused early on with MH on the wii u.
I might have to try Monster Hunter again. It was a little overwhelming coming in a newbie even on Ps4 but like hack n slashers. Ghost is great, but would try to stick to the main mission/tales. The side quests really bog you down and can make the game a bit stale (kinda burnt out on it now).Excellent game, so glad I gave it a try after a absolutely being lost and confused early on with MH on the wii u.
Been enjoying ghost of tsushima and tony hawk pro skater 1/2
Thanks for posting these Johnny, I used to get Game Pro and a couple other mags myself monthly but also stopped when the quality took a nose dive. Cool nostalgia vibes going on over here You weren't lying on the depth, they used to have tons of stuff in there, then it became as light as a comic book by the end, etc. Best cheat codes for the month (those used to be great)Here is some more stuff from the vault, I have around 150 or so issues of PC Gamer and Computer Gaming Monthly magazines dating from around 1999-2015-ish. Some of these bad boys especially the pre-2003-2004 issues were a thick as an encyclopedia. Nowadays you can read through whole issue in just a few minutes and they are like 10 bucks a pop. Anyone care to guess what the #1 ranked game is from the October 2001 Issue pictured?
When I first played GoT I stuck to main missions, but when I started knocking out the side stuff it felt like a nice change of pace. Haven't played a great deal, but there was a nice side quest with some hidden exploration to a long bow.I might have to try Monster Hunter again. Oh the demon bow, I got that and the charm that gives you double supplies. Some are pivotal. The "murderous thieves ransacked the village" ones etc. Those are the ones I ended up overdoing and nearly maxed out my character.When I first played GoT I stuck to main missions, but when I started knocking out the side stuff it felt like a nice change of pace.
