The void Amari Cooper left is still massive

The void where guys can’t consistently get open against top 10 corners. The void that prevents us from having one 100 yard receiver in 7 games. Cooper has never gone the first 7 games without 100 yards.

cooper had 900 yards last year. With rush at qb and Dak first game back it’s a little early to judge.

Dak threw some balls today that were shambolic - upon review nobody is open !

There’s no separation- no speed no height .

Even on his first big throw to CD - it was an ill advised double coverage force in.

Going forward - the secondaries get tougher - Philly NY etc .

We need a legit WR here @ the deadline.
Cooper caught what, six passes a game? You call that a massive void... because I don't. He wouldn't take the hard hits across the middle. He wasn't a jump ball guy in a red zone. He wasn't a good blocker. And he wasn't tall enough for us to stretch the field with his speed. So what did he really bring to this team? Because I'm looking at a bunch of negatives. No wonder he disappeared in road games.

He was good but not great. And his absence is not massive.

We won and we get these type of threads.

POWER RANKING OF Detroit
31. Detroit Lions (1-5)

The Lions are still very much in the rebuilding stage despite early thoughts that they improved. A 1-4 start is a reminder that this squad still has some key pieces -- notably on defense -- to fill before becoming a legitimate contender. Some experts projected the Lions to have a much better record at this point, but the defense has already allowed 170 points through the first five games, which are the most in franchise history.

Injured as well. We don't have someone with speed that can stretch the field. We are missing Cooper.

Turpin has the speed but hasn’t been used yet.

even as a decoy to draw the safeties and D backs deeper and open up the middle

Amari Cooper stats with the Browns this season ..

Opponent - Catches / Targets (yards)
--------------------------------------------------
1) @ CAR -- 3 / 6 -- (17 yards)
2) NYJ -- 9 / 10 -- (101 yards)
3) PIT -- 7 / 11 -- (101 yards)
4) @ ATL -- 1 / 4 -- (9 yards)
5) LAC -- 7 / 12 --(76 yards)
6) NE -- 4 / 12 --(44 yards)
7) @ BAL -- 3 / 4 --(74 yards)
--------------------------------------------------
Home = 27 / 45 (322 yards)
Away = 7 / 14 (100 yards)

In 3 away games, Amari has caught 7 (that's SEVEN) total passes.

This was my issue with Amari. He's a really good receiver, but he disappears in games, especially away games, way more than he should for a player with his talent.

Sometimes getting rid of a good player helps your team by either allowing someone else to step up or forcing the team to find a new better player to replace them.

Cooper in Cleveland 34 catches 4 Td’s. Let Cleveland pay him

:huh:
Ceedee 37 catches 2 TDs
Gallup 8 catches 1TD in four games

The elephant in the room right now is Gallup looks like a shell of his former self so far.

Dak hit him in the 1 & 3 in tight coverage nice throw you have to help your QB stretch the chains as the pass hit the ground .

The TE room has gotten very talented nice to see them help out .
