I just remembered the death camp parallel that I forgot...Carol walking into the room with personal items they collected from those they killed..

I was thinking about that...

And there's merit to that argument.

End of season 1- We had the escape from the CDC.

End of season 2- We had the escape from Herschel's farm.

End of season 3- We had "Prison Assault #1" (which at the time was thought to be the only assault).

And the premier episode for the following season was always on the meek & mild side.

But yeah, with the cliff hanger ending season 4, this premier episode for season 5 was miles better than any of the other season premier's IMO.

Yeah, I could see that. But I also had the kid's fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" cross my mind with the way Terminus was viewed by those visiting it.

I don't know if they reached that decision then, but it certainly provided somewhat of a "roadmap" of how they ended up like they did.
