The Walking Dead (S5) - First half of season thread

Fun episode. Should be great for those that only seem to like fast paced action episodes

Glad to have walking dead back, and they got it started with a bang.

Anyone else get the Terminus/Auschwitz connections?

Sanctuary vs work shall set you free.

Train cars to the end of the line.

Ordinary people becoming monsters committing systematic killing.

Wow. They need to do the cliff-hanger "end of season" thing more often because they did a great job.

I just remembered the death camp parallel that I forgot...Carol walking into the room with personal items they collected from those they killed..

I was thinking about that...

And there's merit to that argument.

End of season 1- We had the escape from the CDC.

End of season 2- We had the escape from Herschel's farm.

End of season 3- We had "Prison Assault #1" (which at the time was thought to be the only assault).

And the premier episode for the following season was always on the meek & mild side.

But yeah, with the cliff hanger ending season 4, this premier episode for season 5 was miles better than any of the other season premier's IMO.

Yeah, I could see that. But I also had the kid's fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" cross my mind with the way Terminus was viewed by those visiting it.

Who else thought Melissa McBride was sorta "Clint Eastwoodish" wearing that poncho and carrying the gun?

Best start in a long long time. Glad not dragged out but if not everyone killed it will linger.

One of the best episodes of the series, IMO.

It brought back the love i have for this show.

Okay lets be honest, who choked up during the Carol, Tyreesse, and Judith reunion with the group scene?

Was the "Then" clip at the beginning meant to show how Gareth and his group made the decision to become cannibals?

I don't know if they reached that decision then, but it certainly provided somewhat of a "roadmap" of how they ended up like they did.
