The whole episode was just frantic and pretty unpredictable. You knew the extras from the town would die, but that was it. Glenn was supposed to escape. Daryl was supposed to show up and save Rick. Rick and Daryl were supposed to drive off by the skin of their teeth and save the town. WRONG! This was really just a shocking, omg episode. I knew Glenn was going to go soon, but not this soon and not this way.

I don't k
That wasn't Glenn's flesh.

Glenn lives

While really unlikely given the situation he was in, that makes some sense, as he's considered one of the main characters, and they sure left his "death" not exactly certain.

Also the fact he had the line about he'll figure a way to show Michone that he's still out there.

Maybe since it seemed Rick heard their shots from on top of the dumpster right before the Wolves attacked , when he unloaded on the them with the AK, that drew their attention away.

Stretching it, but who knows

All I know is Steven Yeun was not on Talking Dead and Scott Gimple had a message that left it up in the air as to what happened.

Was just rewatching the ending and Rick is a bad ***. I initially thought he had cut his hand when he swung the machete. Watching it again his knife broke when he stabbed the walker, he grabbed the blade sticking out of another walker bare handed, pulled it out the other and killed it.

Thinking on it over-night... I'm not convinced what we saw is what we saw.

When the two fell off the dumpster it seemed clear to me the two were landing in about the same spot.

One way or another we won't know for two weeks because next week is a "Morgan" episode.

spoilers ahead

If that wasn't Glenn's "flesh", that's a pretty unbelievable escape for him. The hoards of walkers would tear him apart when they got through Nicholas. I like Glenn's character, but I really hope he's dead and didn't somehow make it out of that. There really was nowhere for him to go unless he went under the dumpster. Even then, the suspension of belief would have to be too much.

In the past, they've shown people moving through zombies while covered with zombie blood, guts. The characters only seem to remember how to do this when it's convenient for the plot though. This is another way for Glenn to possibly survive ... camouflaged in Nicholas guts. Seems lame to not actually go through with it and kill him off though.

except his guts are still "fresh" and likely to smell more like food than death.

i kept thinking they would walk along the barb wire fence to safety or that the kid was going to just stage dive and "body surf" to the zombies while listening to rob zombie in his head or something. the blow to the head - wow. but i would *think* the majority of blood would blow to the side, not all over glen.

also - no one else is around from what i recall. unless there is some 60s serial movie ******** where suddenly as guts are being pulled glen notices enough room to crawl in the dumpster from underneath, seal it, and hide waiting on rick to come along and talk on walkie talkie just like the old days. but that aside, how will the others ever know what happened? no one "got away" to say. glen will just be gone.

no way there'd be enough left to walk around and have people notice him but man alive, how many people were in this "town" to begin with? ricks group coming has pretty much wiped out the town and is costing us glen.

No insider knowledge on my part, but I think the key is the Michonne group that we see headed into town at the end of the episode past the burned out building Glenn and Nicholas past earlier.

That was where the truck hit and the Wolves set the guy on fire in Alexandria.

I am still surprised that there are people who actually think Glenn died last night. That's hilarious to me.

It was so blatantly obvious that the zombies are eating the other guy, who fell on top of Glenn when they went off the dumpster.

That is the only semi plausible way they can write it to where Glenn gets out of that Alley alive. He's going to be covered in the blood and guts of the guy whose beating eaten on top of him, and he's going to stumble out of there alive.

I'm surprised that is even in question.

The rest of the episode was okay. It wasn't anything great and now we're going to get an extra long episode focusing only on Morgan and how he got to be where he is now.

So we're looking at a minimum of 2 weeks before we get the group back to Alexandria to find that they'd been attacked. So more of this dragging things out that often times really annoys me with the Walking Dead.

I agree with what you are saying about what happen to Glen. He's not dead. As for Rick, he has a fairly significant cut on his hand. This isn't brought to our attention for no reason. I believe this will eventually be how he loses his hand. This is the writer's way of match up the TV series more with the graphic novel of the same name.

And that bugs me too.

It's stupid.

If they were going to have him lose his hand then do it to build with the Gov. Now it just seems you're adding it just to add it and that's dumb. Especially on some random bs cut.

So you're telling me that this guy, whose had cuts and crap (as have every one else), millions of times in the past few years, and has been COVERED in Walking blood while they've been cut (Not to mention they've had Walker blood all over their faces and junk) and never had anything happen but NOW. This one time...cause he cuts his hand on a blade, with Walker blood on it, now we're going to see him have to cut his hand off cause he'll turn?

It's stupid, and lazy, writing.

I understand you thinking that way without it explained to us. But alas... the writer will come up with some semi-cleaver explanation.

Hopefully Rick doesn't lose his hand.

As a matter of fact Kirkman has stated that if he the chance to do it over again he would not have had graphic-novel Rick lose his hand.

Again, if somehow Glen makes it out of that alive, I will really laugh out loud. There was really no escape unless (and this would be ridiculous) he slid under the dumpster or somehow got the dumpster open and jumped in. There were way too many walkers for them to "overlook" another hot-blooded living human underneath Nicholas.
