How many times do we need to get burned by the garbage pail kids before we learn our lesson? Worst season by a mile....

all season was a buildup to last night and the first 60 minutes of last night was a buildup to the final 30 minutes which in the end now finds negan back home loading up for war and coming back ASAP and what's left of 3 villages holding hands and acting like this is over.

Yeah, pretty much! LOL!

Last night's episode was good, but it didn't make up for the worst season in the show's history IMO.

My question is are they going to wrap this arc up by mid season or are they going to draw it out until the end of next season?

The cgi was much better last night. And the fight scene was well choreographed.

Agreed. You could see their duplicity coming. It was one of Rick's worst moments as a leader offering them guns and inviting them to partake in the fight without fleshing them out more.

yea, remove some of the shasha overkill and the overall episode wasn't bad as far as standard episodes go.

for a season finale, it was just more of the same that TWD has turned into. dramatic music, long drawn out speeches, not much action.

One other irk I had with episode was Michonne's fight...

I mean she kicked the Governor's behind and he was at least 6' tall and couple hundred pounds... But she gets the hell beaten out of her by this blond gal who dresses weird and speaks like Yoda?

I'd chalk that up to poor writing. I mean this group took all your guns last time and now when it's life and death u decide to trust them again? Hollywood....

Agreed. The writers had to come up with a lot of fill this season to get from the head bashings to the point of conflict. The time frame within the graphic novel was considerably shorter.

I came back by since after Week 2 to see if anyone was still defending this garbage

50 minutes of commercials and Ricks' wet hair followed by the lamest stunts and fights and plots

I thought the scenes between Rick and Negan, and, to a lesser extent, Sasha and Negan, carried the rest of the show. I hope Negan and Simon stick around a while.

Finally getting to see Rick's group fight back was a relief, so you kinda overlook weaknesses in how that scene was choreographed. Still, there were parts that could have been easily improved, like the abrupt jump between them all fighting to seeing that all of Rick's people have surrendered.

Would have liked to have seen the Trash Queen killed off, only so I wouldn't have to hear her speak again.

I got the feeling that, if help hadn't arrived, Negan was just going to say screw it and kill Rick instead of Carl. Pretty obvious that Rick was never going to be cooperative at that point.

Okay it was a pretty good episode. I loved Rick once again telling Negan he would kill him and that it didn't matter what Negan does it nothing will change that.

The fight to run them from Alexandria was good and Negan flipping the bird as they escape I believe is right out of the comic if I remember right so nice touch.

Now we know they're going to go into war next year. They'll have at least two huge battles with Negan at Sanctuary and at Hilltop.

I'm guessing first couple episodes will be setting up that Rick will match on Sanctuary immediately and attack Negan there. Much like the novel this will somehow surprise Negan that they brought it to his house as I'm guessing he just expects them to wait on him.

That will give the writers, the end of that fight I mean, the needed time to drag things out so that Rick can go after the trash traitors and then have Negan show up one final time at Hilltop.

My guess is this war lasts all of next season.

Oh and Michonne last night.....***? So stupid. How that woman was a challenge for her....Good lord.

The sascha part was cool but they did the overkill bit with her talking with abraham.

Other than that i enjoyed the show.

I remember some seasons back how there were always a few people who claim...worse season...The farm season was one of those when all along I thought it was a good season.
I thought this season was good as well and even with it's short comings I don't see why so many keep complaining about the show and still watching it. Some of the same people complained about the terminus season. Some complained when they were in the prison too long with no action...sensing a trend here.

A few here have been steady complaining about the show for about 2-3 seasons now.

If I go to a place to eat and I don't like it 2-3 times...why in the heck would I keep going there to eat if I know I don't like it. Maybe it is time for some to cut the cord and quit watching the show. There have been plenty of shows I have quit watching because I just lost interest or they were just getting too silly for my taste. I can only think of a couple where I stuck it out only because I knew they were going to end the show in a season or two so I figured what they heck.

On to the trash people. Most could see that coming a mile away. So many complaining about how they could have hid this whole time without others knowing...chances are others knew all along but figured they had nothing they valued so they did not bother with them...after all they had no sustainable food products (growing food) or weapons. Not much more to use them for other than labor...or the off chance that maybe they could turn them some day down the road if they needed. One other thing to think about with the trash people. It would be VERY simple IMO to get rid of them. Wait to they go home. Their whole world is made up of a trash maze...light a few different areas of the trash maze on fire...the whole thing goes up and they are trapped...bonus feature is they all have oil in their hair and bodies...even flammable ready.

One a side note...I like how the tiger is trained to only attack bad guys. Nice Touch wink wink

It was good. Certainly a better season ender than last years...

I am on the other end here... when the tiger jumped in I actually laughed said "oh, you are kidding".

This ending was like a bad action(B movie) movies good save the heroes ending.

I was pretty frustrated by the episode until the confrontation finally began....those Sasha Abraham flashbacks made me wanna pull my hair out! but all in all it was good, glad to see Negan finally take an L. And the Garbage people need to be dealt with to get the guns back, and payback of course.

They made a real effort to nake this A LOT about Sasha. I understood flashbacks. Didn't care for them... but it was clearly spelling her ending and her major part in what happened.

I think that was hardly a loss for Negan.
All he did was lose men. But that measure he has lost many men already.

like i said, when you run around telling total strangers w/zero vested interest in your cause you're out to kill someone, you're putting a lot of faith in a total stranger.
.

These are desperate times. Apocalyptic.... I can see where you may have to take a leap of faith. It did backfire for sure though.

I loved when Rick told him that. But then I immediately thought.

Negan had the option to whack him at least two times. Rick knows he could get dead right then and there.

So what was Rick really saying? You and your followers are "NEGAN"... and NOW..... Rick and all his followers are "RICK"?

Flipping the bird was great!

At that point Negan has to kill Carl in front of Rick... then kill Rick... or he loses his group.
Oddly enough... doing so could still lose his group.

In your analogy it is a restaurant that was awesome......it was your favorite place to eat

you keep going back out of loyalty and the hope it recovers its magic......you are sad when it doesn't and laugh at the people that still go there pretending it isn't now horrible

but watching a TV show after DVR'ing at your conviience is really not much of an effort.....it doesn't cost anything but time.....acknowledging that a great show jumped the shark is pretty normal

You keep going back after they changed Chefs and since changing chefs it has sucked but you keep going back due to loyalty? After a period of time you have to wise up and say...why waste my time.

Even if you are not paying for a show...why waste your time. It is still an investment in time that could be spent finding something else you want to watch.

At that point if you continually watch a show that you know you no longer like...you are only doing so to complain to yourself and others about how silly the show is and the other people reading your complaints are only reading how silly you are to continue to watch it....and if you don't watch it anymore as it seems like you indicated...why waste your time going into a topic that you are no longer invested in if only to complain about it and again waste your own, and other peoples...time.

There have been shows talked about on the forum that I no longer watch. I might have complained about it initially being bad but after that...no need to bother complaining about it because that is a waste of everyone's time.

If you keep watching a show you don't like and or you keep complaining about a show you don't like or don't even watch anymore...you have turned into the proverbial bitter old woman who is only happy when they are complaining.
