These Chiefs fans think they're gonna embarrass us

We have no clue if we will beat them. They're laughing at us just as we're laughing at them. It's not like we're some kind of juggernaut that can steamroll weaker teams. We barely beat the Giants after they coughed the ball 6 times.

Don't be surprised if we lose. This team has a tendency to do that after emotional wins. We beat the Giants handily two years ago to start the season, only to end it 8-8.

Why is it when we "barely" win, it is meaningless but when we "barely" lose, it means we suck?

Barely win or barely lose...neither should install so much confidence that one automatically thinks we will win the following game and laugh at the idea of fans of the opposing teams thinking it is an easy win.

Not speaking of anyone specifically just speaking in general.

I do laugh when I see the barely win line, we never trailed in the game, not once, never.

I truly believe some people on this forum prefer it when we lose so they can complain.

When everything is meaningless, and it all sucks, it's not really a great mystery. A message board for a solid 500 team tells you more about how individual fans handle expectations and disappointment than it does about how a team is actually likely to perform. Some people are naturally sanguine. Some are not.

I am so confused. Is it "you are what your record says you are"? Does that mean we are two undefeated powerhouses going at it? Or are we just a .500 team until proven otherwise? Is Kansas City just a garbage 2 win team? Or does the "You are what your record says you are" only apply to Dallas when "keeping it real" and Kansas City gets to move to the solid team category with no 2-14 record remembered or attached?

I am so confused on the rules...

The first time I heard "you are what your record says you are" - or something to that effect - was from Bill Parcells. I'm pretty sure he was talking about a team's current record, not last year's.

It doesn't matter if a poster underestimates them and really who cares if you look silly on a webboard?

I was mainly talking about from a players perspective.

It's ok though, I know you felt left out of the conversation. So come on in, and join the party.

Romo will be lucky to make it through the game."

"The only solid corner they have is an ex-Chief. Their running game is non-impressive thus far, receivers are solid, Romo is solid, O-line is a little weak..
I think JC has a monster day... and Chiefs win from turnover battle...
Chiefs - 24
Boys - 10"

"Chiefs by 3. Poe eats that rookie center's lunch."

"20-17, Chiefs
New players on special teams have had another week to gel.
Romo gets harassed, knocked down, and sacked a few times and whines on the way to the sideline.
Whitten burns the Chiefs too often.
More depth on O-line with Asamoah and Stephenson at full strength.
Home field noise causes Dallas to burn two timeouts."

We need an enforcer on defense. We need a bad man to set the tone. Someone others fear i.e. Clay Mathews, if you get a penalty make it for lighting up someone . Pass interference on a wide receiver coming across the middle , nothing dirty but just so vicious it is considered dangerous.

We're only one game into the season it takes 4-5 games for a team to establish what type of team they are each year. KC is already off to a better start than they were last year they didn't get their first win until week 3 of the 2012 season. Last week was their first opening day win in 3 years so that's a good sign for them but they haven't established themselves yet nor have the Cowboys. Bill Parcells made the comment you are what your record says you are when he took over the Cowboys in 2003. He was referring to the Cowboys three straight 5-11 seasons so we as fans associate that term with the Cowboys. When a team goes 5-11 three consecutive seasons that validates they're a 5-11 team. When something becomes consistent it is what it is until you prove otherwise. The Cowboys have gone longer than KC without a winning season or playoff appearance. The Cowboys have been mediocre for 3 straight seasons they're 2 games below 500 over that period.

It's hard to take much from last weeks opening day win over the Giants seeing that the Cowboys opened up last season with a win over them and still ended up going 8-8. Sundays game vs KC is a key game because if the Cowboys win it will break a trend we've been seeing. If they lose they'll be off to another up and down start. The Cowboys haven't gotten off to a 2-0 start since 09 and that start led to an 11-5 season and the Cowboys first playoff win in 13 years. Sundays game is an important game for the teams confidence. If the Cowboys are going to break this discouraging up and down cycle we've been seeing the past few seasons they need to win on Sunday. If they're going to establish themselves as a "good" team and things are going to be "different" this season they have to start stringing wins together.

Rule of thumb. If Dallas wins, it was luck. If they lose, it is deserved. Keeps you out of the doghouse and in the cool clique that "keeps it real."

Good observation and one that hasn't been talked about much. Agree 100% As Spurs coach Greg Popovich tells his players, "We need some nasty"

Nothing there seems unreasonable to me, except the spelling of Witten's name.

Heading into week 2 vs Seattle last season you predicted the defense primarily Ware would be all over Russell Wilson and the Cowboys would pound Seattle. Hopefully you're as wrong about this prediction as you were about the Seattle game.

I live in Kansas City, work here with all these Chief fans. They are pumped for this game. I took a lot of grief today when I went in with all my cowboy attire on. They believe they are going to slaughter Dallas. We shall see.

Sounds like we're going to walk into a buzzsaw this weekend. It's getting me more and more excited for this game.
