You think Purdy is better? He's no great QB. He's good at best. A really good example of a team carrying a QB.
Nobody is taking Dak over Purdy right now.

Purdy is trending up while Dak is year 8 still needing everything around him to be perfect (Arizona game) to compete.

If Dak comes out and plays really well, like one of his best games, I think we come out of there with a WIN. I think Purdy is going to play well because most of his passes are short to the backs and receivers. We need to tackle well and Vander Esch is really going to be tested of course but I still think it comes down to how well the QB's play. It would be sweet to get to Purdy and force a pick or two which would cause the Niners to play from behind. They said Dak's rating is top of the league when he has the lead and bottom of the barrel when playing from behind. Anyway I just wanted to share my thoughts but I want to mention one more thing. How can we expect Dak to play really well without Tyron Smith and possibly Zach Martin? This is the part that makes me worried and sick.

I've been a fan for 47 years and really can't stand the Niners since the 90's. I was there in Dallas in the 90's when both teams met in the endzone before the game and started pushing each other around. My 27 year old son is more die hard than I am and has this guy he works with is wanting to bet him $500 and give him 10 points! I told him not to do it because I don't trust Dak and Martin and Smith are banged up and thats not counting Micah and Dowdle. Sorry for the long post but I'm praying for a win but my gut says otherwise.

I'm so glad someone started this thread because it's absolutely true. The great QBs always talk about competing against the other QB...obviously not head-to-head, but great QBs are going to get theirs..so...

I'll go so far as to say this: This is the most important game for Dak's future as a Cowboy. I'm not saying we must win, but if he stinks up the joint...it's going to be hard to remove that taint after he said he was "p'd off"...

We'll see...Rayne...

Of course not. Purdy is young and cheap. But he's not that good. He needs the same help around him. Some of those passes he threw in that game against the Giants screamed amateur. The Giants let him off the hook because they suck. He's a decent QB and is probably going to get better, but no team in the NFL fears Brock Purdy. They fear the rest of the team.

Man, do you think Dak can get to the end zone twice against the Niners? 24 - 13 Niners win this game. The Dak lovers will blame the defense for not scoring enough.
Stupid to Characterize fans of the Cowboys as "Dak Lovers". True fans want the team to win regardless of who the QB is.

10 points for 500? I'd take that bet all day.
If I was a betting man which I'm not,10 points would be tempting, but truly I think this game is an absolute toss up, anything could happen.
Don't bet the farm.

Prescott and Purdy will likely never be on the field at the same time, so it is not about them head to head at all.

We saw what happened without Purdy last year.

We saw what happened without Dak last year.

There is a difference between them and it's not just young and cheap.

Purdy "he remains undefeated in any game he's started and finished" 14-0! "FIRST quarterback in NFL history to win his first six regular-season starts while ALSO throwing multiple touchdowns in each game. Purdy is also the first QB in NFL history to register a QB rating of at least 95 in each of his first six starts." No comparison as odds are he will win his first SB this year while Dak goes onto year 9.

I mean that's fine though. In the 90's teams knew when we were going to run a draw with Emmitt. Still couldn't stop it. I like Deuce but it's important to bring him out there in ways he can be effective. If they can't do that then maybe now is not the time to play him until they can figure that out. I also understand Rico going out forced him in last game so I'm not knocking them for that.
We don’t have the oline of the 90’s but I get your point. His strength is gonna be outside where his speed is effective. But you do have to mix in some inside runs just to keep the d honest. I’d like to see him in the pass game too

I predict the 49ers win by at least 2 scores.
Would you say this Cowboys team is better than the one that barley lost to the 49ers in January? So did the 49ers improve that much from last time or the Cowboys that much worse than the they were in January?

But you can still do individual stats. How else do you compare, appraise, value?

And I disagree with you about only TEAMS win games. Yes...there are a lot of sequential random events to happen for the end result outcome.

But you know...there are times when ONE player does make that play to win the game. Sometimes it's right at the end...sometimes not.

Might not agree about who he or he's that is....But we shouldn't be lazy about it either.

"TEAM GAME BLAH BLAH BLAH"

"HOW CAN YA TELL BLAH BLAH BLAH!"

I say there are moments were an individual...maybe in combination with another...sure....WINS games.

At his size I Just don't know how he will have much success running inside.

Dallas has a top Defense and competent offense this year but unless the offense improves I do not see deep playoffs in the picture. Against teams like SF and PHL they will likely be competitive due to Dallas defense but I think they will lose against them due to low scoring by Dallas offense. Hope I am wrong.

Dallas in 2023 is strong but not Super Bowl caliber. Only way I see for Dallas to improve is for Dak to become much more mobile, similar to Mahomes. He has to make things happen with his legs when plays go bad, he does not even need to be able to throw across the field, just get 5 yards running every time the sack was alternative. Less sacks or throw away and Dak can make the difference. No one believes he is going to hold the ball and run on option plays so why even run them? Either don’t run them or he needs to actually run some of those.

If he could do that even a little, they may can win some of the tough games.

I am hoping I am wrong and they do better than I predict.
Laterally he is as slow as molasses, which should be clear watching him roll out and get sacked vs. the Jets. He was never really a great runner as a rookie. He is best running downhill through a hole in the pocket. Do I think there are times when he can run vertically and get some yards? Yes, but those times are few and far between. Given his age, injury history and salary, his running days are all but over. If he can rush 3 or 4 times per game on "very" important downs it would be a win for Dallas...but he ain't gonna do what Jalen Hurts is doing. No way. He's simply too old and too slow.

If the Cowboys are going to win a Superbowl with Prescott it will "largely" be his arm that makes it happen.
