How do you know? only time will tell how good he will be. he does not have to be Rodgers. if he's anything close to him, that's good enough for me.
I asked this question before but I don't believe it was answered.
Do you think Matt Leinart was worth the 10th pick? Would you have drafted him at 18 (Cowboys Pick the year Leinart was drafted) knowing what you know now?
Do you think Mark Sanchez was worth the 5th pick? Would you have drafted him at 69 (Cowboys Pick the year Sanchez was drafted) knowing what you know now ?
I get that you believe he could become a great QB and I acknowledge that it is a possibility. However, it's not one that is shared by virtually anybody I've seen offer an opinion on Barkley. So, taking this into consideration, you must acknowledge the fact that he may not end up being anywhere near as good as Rogers. He may end up being a Leinart or a Sanchez.
Is he then still worth the 18th pick overall? You can't just go out and spend a draft on a guy you think might end up being good. You have to have some kind of supporting evidence that reinforces your belief in that position. If not, then you end up with a pick like Felix Jones. That's the way I hope we don't continue to run our drafts.
