Based on what I’ve seen from Mike these past few years? He goes for it. If y’all want to argue that Mike has changed? Fair enough. Maybe he has.
I’m not arguing that he changed. It makes absolutely no sense to go for a 4th and 5 up by 9 points with less than five minutes, that’s just not smart football. Mike’s an analytics guy and I am absolutely certain the analytics see take the points in that situation.

Situational football. It was the right call. Of course McCarthy has less confidence in Rush than Dak in that situation. That's a big part of the situation.

McCarthy kicked the field goal because the Rams did nothing on offense. I don’t think having Dak out there changes his thought process.
Yeah we all know that. But he wouldn’t care if Prescott was in there make no mistake about it. You go up by Two touchdowns

You need to take the points there, especially off a turnover on the road against the Champs.

Yes, we kick the field goal.

We should have ran the ball there instead of going empty sets twice on that series. If they had no confidence in Rush there, they would not have called that set once. Let alone twice.

Don't remember this 4th quarter scenario. But remember last games 1st quarter scenario.
This isn’t about what you need to do, or what you not need to do. It’s about what they would’ve done

Late in the fourth quarter cowboys up by six . fourth and five for first down. Maybe six I truly don’t recall. Well I do recall his watching McCarthy on the sidelines and I know he wanted to go for it. We kick a field goal. If Prescott was in there do you think McCarthy kicks that field goal. I don’t.
Rush has converted a couple critical 4th downs in the past few games. I don't have a clue why you think having Dak would have made him do differently.

Having Dak in MIGHT have changed the decision. But I don't think so. If you go for it and don't make it, the Rams only need a TD and a field goal to beat the Cowboys. If you make the field goal, the Rams have to have TWO touchdowns to beat us. With the way our defense is playing, you have to kick the field goal because there are no style points awarded to the winners or losers.

Despite wanting to go for it and put the game away, the smart decision is to kick the field goal.

Weekend at Daks'.
Mike said this is a defensive team now, and I know some y'all don't know what to do with a good defense, but you play to the defense. The FG made it a 2 score game, he played the percentages that the Rams couldn't score twice in 5 minutes vs a Top 5 defense. Duh.

Nonsense. We've kicked many FGs and scored many TDs with Dak. If you prefer Rush, cool. But let's not pretend that Dak can't do at least what Rush has done. He has proven he can do much more. Be glad we have both. Why is that so hard?
Why's it hard?

That's simple.

Dak is a 40 million a year albatross holding the Cowboys back. He's injury prone, will shrink in big games, clearly not needed, and isn't good enough to stop the media and fans from starting a QB controversy against Cooper Rush.

Oh, and his fake nice guy act is old and tired. We saw who he really is after the 49ers game.

Oh lord.
If Dak was in we would have had a 3 and out earlier the whole thing would be irrelevant

Kicking FG was right call no matter if it is Dak or Rush at QB, it put the Rams in the situation of needing 2 TD to win in a little over 5 min.

Eh. MM knows he has a Doomsday Defense 2.0 and he's building up trust and confidence in Maher IMO.

If their defense wasn't up to snuff I bet he would have gone for it. MM isn't conservative like Red. He'll take calculated risks when need be.

Cowboys fans are not used to having a defense we can rely on in this situation. We are used to wanting as many points as possible because we never feel confident in the defense.

This is a whole new world!!!

The FG DID make us go up by 2 TDS.

Did you even watch the game?

Pretty sure that is what he was saying with his statement. Kick the FG and go up by 2 TDS no matter who the QB was (which, as you said, is what we did). It was the correct call IMO.

As a long time Cowboys have I have seen great defense from this franchise and you bet this defense is a quality defense but I also expect the offense to produce, not saying we must be the #1 offense in the league but we must do better no question about it. I like Rush but anyone who thinks this offense is fine are either blind or agenda driven. Dak is not an elite QB however he is much better than Rush I love what Rush has been able to do thus far in avoiding mistakes but sooner or later an offense has to be more than one who makes few mistakes you also need to produce

So your point is that Dallas happily takes 3 points versus risk Dak blowing it? Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Dak.
