Sam Hurd is a frickin ******. Have you ever listened to him talk for more than a couple minutes? It's painful. He's probably got about as much insight into Barber's contract situation as my wife's cat.

ouch bro.

Sam Hurd appears to be a good guy and hard working guy. there is no reason to dog him for anything.

Dont doubt hurd, doubt the post and the topic.

Anyone is available for trade depending on what is being offered. If BP wants to give us his second rounder this year plus one of his extra 2nds and a conditional pick next year I would pull the trigger. RBs are very replaceable and I don't think MB3 will be here after next year anyway given our cap situation.

Wow-really...the next three weeks or so is going to be VERY interesting and ALOT of questions that we want answered, that won't be there(yet).

I think we should just sit back and take a deep breath...b/c whatever happens happens, and to be frank, the end result won't be nearly as bad as we think the sky will be falling.

If anything, I've noticed alot of other teams are having their fair share of problems. For example, Gary Cobb reported that Andy Reid will likely take that Vandy OT in the 1st round, and will trade up if he has to.(when they have other much pressing needs than some OL) You can imagine the roller coaster ride Eagles fans are going through as well.

Man, I don't understand so many people getting all worked up over this. I like MBIII, but he's not the second coming of Emmitt Smith.

If he's here, wonderful. He's not going anywhere else unless we choose to send him somewhere else...he belongs to us for one more year. If we trade him, so what? I think it would be very exciting to see what we get for him before I get all worked up over it.

Trust the scouts, coaches, and front office...whatever makes the Cowboys better is cool by me...of course, I didn't invest in an MBIII jersey in the offseason either. :D

It's very simple to me. If we get DMac and give him a contract in the 40 million range(Peterson got 6 at 40.5) we can say good bye to MBIII.

Just to add my 2 cents, I was at the show in Edison, NJ today. Sam was signing autographs along with a lot of ex-Cowboys. I went to get Eddie LaBaron and Craig Morton. I wasn't paying for Sam, but he did get his share of people that did pay. Don't know anything about what he was telling fans, but he was at the show...

Yep-with all the fuss by C Zoners how we got lazy and complacent in that Giants playoff game, people seem to forget the reality of it-MB3 is just NOT an every down, 60 minute kind of back. If anything, Steve Spagnuola played it brilliantly by LETTING Barber have his carries, yards, and even way the entire first half, and then you saw his lack of production in the 2nd half.

Kind of a small sample your using there dontcha think?

Who cares if he's an every down back? No one is asking him to be. That certainly doesn't mean we need to get an unproven RB in the top ten in the first round...giving up draft picks and proven players in the process. We can get him help in the second or third rounds.

Sam Hurd and Marion Barber are definitely tight... go to youtube and type "sam hurd marion barber" in and see the first 2 results.

Maybe I was just adding to the pile of gross inaccuracies that make up this thread.

I have nothing against Hurd really, but from watching Inside the Huddle he doesn't seem like the brightest bulb in the pack. I also wouldn't consider him a reliable source of information on the contract status of other players, regardless of how 'tight' they are with each other.

Well to me, it comes down to the money and draft pick. If he was an every down back, we could pick up a FA to back him up on the cheap. But in his case, we have to think about spending a high round draft pick when he is in his prime.

I'm not against picking that draft pick to back him up, but the point is if he was a true every down back, we could use that pick on something else. Some of the other feature backs in the league have no names as their backups, and if Barber was that, we could too.

I don't need to tell myself that. Several teams kindly remind me every year.
