sigh - we knew drew needed a stellar OL.
bill didn't get him one.

look at drew year after year, not just this one. is what you see this year consistant with what he's done in his career?

We got him what he needed. When they played well, he played like the best QB in the NFC, without a legitimate #1 reciever. I don't know what else you want. You're being incredibly unrealistic.

Just go right ahead and ignore the fact that MB3 was actually producing.

you wanna be happy with a qb who's never been there but could be if you agree with all his excuses, fine. but like i said, i want a youthful direction AT QB and a plan around that qb.

that's all.

Where did I state I was happy with Bledsoe?

What I don't want to do is waste several top draft picks to move up in the draft just so we can play "QB Roulette" with one of these top round QBs.

For every Carson Palmer or Leftwich there is a Joey Harrington or David Carr. QB's who fall out of the top 10 tend to be guys like Bollinger or Grossman, neither of whom is going to remind anyone of Troy Aikman. I WOULD rather have Bledsoe in that case.

We still have enough holes that need filling that those draft picks are priceless, throwing them away just to move up for a QB is counter-productive to me.

And, actually, I haven't given up on Henson either. But that doesn't mean I think Bill should bench Bledsoe, who is having his best season in years, just so we can "find out".

And no, neither did Bill Bellichick, even when Bledsoe was playing much worse.

maybe. but i view bills plan as being 'unrealistic'.

this is year 3 of bills team. success or failure is 100% his at this point.

done arguing. bill is god, we're just a camels hair away from winning it all, and our return to glory is solid for generations to come because of bill.

better?

i don't like loading up a qb who's never done it, pack away a nice supply of excuses, and make 1 more run that you could never make before.

You mean exactly what Belichick did in 2001.

This is year 1. Basically. We were hamstrung by that 2003 season. It was the WORST thing that could have happened to us. Jerruh said he wanted to see what he had in his failed baseball players, and unfortunately, because of a series of events that all fell in the favor of the Cowboys, we made the playoffs with the blow addict. Last year, we paid for it, because everyone was fooled into thinking we had something.

Complete myth.

Why did Parcells keep untested late round rookies like Thomas Johnson and Jay Ratliff instead of keeping Leo Carson.

Why didn't Parcells go out and get a veteran RT like Scott Gragg instead of going with a rookie 6th round draft pick like Pettiti?

And why was Peerless Price let go when Patrick Crayton came back from injury?

...when you apply it to present starters who arer healthy enough to play and have shown Parcells something.

Pettiti does not break the mould. Carson wasn't a starter.

How is that my way? It's a fact. JJ was "benched" because he busted his ankle, not because he was having trouble with fumbling. Sorry to get in the way of your anti-Bill argument with facts, but I prefer debating things with some measure of reality.

OK, be a jerk. I explained my position, on where I view BP's progress with the team. I know he's coached three years. I can also see things - not just in black and white. I didn't abuse any facts, or make anything up, like your story about JJ getting "benched." Nice try on the deflection, though. Next time, try getting your facts straight first.

Really ? And just how close is this team to being a consistent playoff team with an aging QB and no one in development ? HMM I only see this team in the playoffs next year and after that I dont think anyone knows. This team is NOT EVEN close to being a CONSISTENT Playoff team. For god sakes our QB is an ancient Bledsoe who wont be here past next year.

leonargized said:
I disagree and those who do not see how close this team is to being a consistant playoff team must not being paying attention.....
most at the begining of this season would have been estatic for a 10-6 record and most said no playoffs and that next year was our year.

Now all of a suuden things are coming together , but now that there is some light at the end , some want to sprint to it .
Reminds me of the children on a 8 hour car trip to Disney ... first 7 hour are fine , but that last hour ?????

I'm sorry, but I cringe when I see a thread that says this has been a successful season, and we may not even be in the playoffs!! Good night, what has happened to us Cowboys fans?!

Ok, I could see us being encouraged by a winning but non-playoff year during the 89-90 seasons because we were 1-15, then 7-9, even though we almost made the playoffs in 90. Our QB was a kid, our running back was a kid, our top WR was a kid, our overall team age was the youngest in the NFL. We had YEARS ahead of us with top skill position players.

We are where we are today precisely because Jones and Parcells have PATCHED the skill positions with the exception of running back. But we have an older QB who is way overrated by some zoners, he is serviceable to good, he is not a pro bowler. We have old WR's with no good young one on the horizon. I also love our TE Witten, so I would say he is a piece in place. Our OL is nothing to write home about.

In other words, this was a team that didn't rebuild, nor did it construct itself to win this year. This is a team destined to be exactly what it is for the next few years, then we are back to square one.

I agree completely. This team was built to challenge the Eagles for the NFC East title, yet we are in 3rd place behind the Giants who we had beaten 3 of the last 4 times and the Commanders who's number we were supposed to have. The Commanders don't have nearly the talent that we do, yet dominated us and the Giants the last two weeks. So much for my being a Commander apoligist and them fading down the stretch, huh! Just maybe I do know a little something about football.

I'm listening. Unfortunately I'm listening to one completely illogical post after another, but I'm listening.

So far I've listened to ...

Bill's problem is that he goes with Bledsoe, but I'm not saying that Bledsoe should be benched.

AND

Why doesn't Bill go out to the 22 Year Old Future HOF QB Tree and pick him off a 22 Year Old Future Hall of Famer? It must be stubborness.
