If Garrett has progressed as a coach you would expect us to have a great game plan and be a tough out on Sunday. Less than that and you really have to think these coaches just don't get it.

That's b.s. because even if we fight our hearts out and lose on a last second FG or something you guys Will lambaste him like you did after Green Bay beat us the same way. Even though the eagles only have 1 loss somehow if Garrett doesn't beat them they he will "never get it" I guess the other 7 coaches they beat will "never get it" either

Was just in my car...the people on the radio are saying the opposite.

They say the Eagles have this division wrapped (which is probably true) and that the importance of this game is diminished.
Getting healthy for after Philly is huge..according to them.
They say that since we have another game in a few days, Smith should rest.
Not to throw in the towel on this game at all, but if we lose Smith the rest of way and pull out this one win, it means little.
Going forward after the Philly game will be what makes or breaks our chances. At least that's what they were saying.

I'm not really a Garrett Basher. I'm a Garrett Moderate. I am expecting a game plan by Garrett that gives us a reasonable chance of winning and not getting blown out. I am expecting him to make a difference and win a game that we shouldn't win at some point due to a coaching decision or game plan.

I would actually like to see him succeed and continue to improve as a coach. It benefits the franchise. I think you have me confused with someone else.

If I am critical of Garrett in a given instance it is because I try to be objective. He isn't all bad either. I don't even give much of a **** about his incessant clapping. Lol

There's a bit of an echo chamber in here. Where else in the NFL is a guy on his last legs with a winning record heading into week 11 coming off of a 13-3 HCotY campaign?

Only in Dallas.

There are some areas Garrett needs to improve but he is doing better. I like the direction we are headed, generally, but Garret does have warts that I would think a guy with his intelligence would fix over time. I think if we **** canned Marinelli and git Garrett a real D.C. He would look like a lot smarter head coach.

That's a reasonable long term thought. But if we lose tomorrow we become serious long shots to get in the playoffs. Having said that, I think you get Tyron healthy, and find a way to win with the healthy guys you have and hope to make some noise with healthy guys if we somehow get into the playoffs.

We could lose 100-0 and absolutely nothing happens to that clapper. He would throw coaches under the bus ASAP
Exactly, so how do we measure his success? NFC championship game in next 5 years? Superbowl appearance in next 10 years? If he is going to he 8-8 next 10 years without either if those, whats the point? We will be like the cubs, 40 years and counting

Why would we use one game to evaluate Garrett? He’s been here almost 10 years. He has a substantial body of work we can examine. In seven seasons, he has two playoff appearances, two NFC East titles, and one playoff win. if you’re not content with that record, that’s fine. If you are, that’s fine too. But his record is his record at this point.

regardless if the lose sunday and win7 or 9 games garrett has his built in excuse so no he is not in trouble but if they keep losing there will be lots of pressure because romo is not around to take the blame any more and dak is to early in his carreer to get much blame and the fans and national media will want someone to blame some other coach will be the one to take the fall

There won't be pressure as long as 90 k keep on attending games.

Win or lose tomorrow night, in my opinion Garrett's future should rest on the four games that follow. The Chargers, Commanders, Giants, and Raiders are all sub-.500 teams and the Cowboys should win against them all.

Then we get Zeke back in time to face Seattle and Philly again. Maybe I'm being unrealistic, but Dallas can really get on a run here.

I suppose that's a fair way to look at it but I doubt it actually comes to that. There will always be a built-in excuse for JG. Injuries, suspensions, etc. are a fact every year, and as long as Jerry is breathing he's not going to fire his chosen one. Remember, JG was hired as an OC before the vacant head coaching position was filled (Phillips). That is something Jerry will never back away from. If there is any one thing that can get me into a melancholy mood that's it.

He is the problem, or one of the main problems. He has gone from offensive Co. To head coach - calling plays, to just walk around head coach. Jerry has said that he has been learning on the job - for 7 years now.
Bad clock managment for years, bad situational football, major, major lack of offensive and defensive adjustments.
Yes, the players play but at some point he has to make a difference. Game planning and adjustments are on the head coach and then trickle down.
When is the same ol same ol just not good enough ?

I’m not a huge JG supporter, last week’s game spoke volumes to where he isn’t as an in game manager, but we are going against the hottest team in the league without three of our best players.

Is there anyone’s top5 list that doesn’t have all of these guys in it? Lee, Tryon and Z?

If he can pull out a win, I think it’s bigger than the outrage of a loss.

I would have him put the players in the best position to do those things.

...that's so convenient to say.....maybe he can do that when some of our top players get off the injury list, and Zeke gets off of suspension!

He should do that regardless of who is playing instead of relying on sheer talent to win.
