This win makes us a "shaky 5-4" because of the horrible defensive play

I did watch the game maybe you should watch it again. Majority of your posts are negative, that's fine but you're off base if you think the defense didn't help win this game today. When Romo threw the 4th Quarter Int, did the defense fold? No, they got Romo the ball back.

Stop expecting the 85 Bears.

The defense stepped up in the second half but overall I was not impressed because it was a 1-6 team. So I have no confidence heading into next week

you could also say we're 5 points from 9-1

what does bother me is that we seem to be regressing, though injuries play a role

The offense stepped up in the end to win the game, something which the defense didn't do last week. Such a wasted opportunity at 6-3, though I guess 5-4 will do ...

So getting a TD and INT on defense is playing horrible? I think we played more zone coverage due to the absence of Wilcox and Claiborne. Why gamble on leaving Webb and other rookie DB's isolated?

Yes the defense is horrible.

Anybody with any common sense that watches it play knows that.

Miles isn't a starter anymore. Murray played.

With the way Terrence has played lately, I sure hope Miles is still a starter. Don't get me wrong, I love William's ability to stretch the field, but a 100% healthy Miles is better.

Shaky 5-4 .....guess so, because Dallas only did what they have been doing all year.....beat a bad team, barely, but beat em. Now of course they have a good team next week, which means back to .500. Par for the course.

as well as Williams has played so far I also hope that miles can come back and contribute. Williams is playing like a rookie the last two weeks and it is starting to hurt Bryant because of all of the attention the defenses are giving him now.

Defense played good enough once again. What more are people expecting from a team facing so many injuries to the secondary and DLine? If I told you in August that guys like Drake Nevis, George Selvie, Nick Hayden, and Everett Brown were getting a lot of reps in the 4th quarter of close games, you'd think we'd be well below 0.500.

The Vikings have the best RB in the league and are #3 in the league in rushing TDs and #6 in yards/rush. And Ponder isn't great but he's not a total scrub. You have to take what you can get with this injury-depleted defense and that is timely turnovers and stops.

There was shaky play on both sides of the ball. No need to take a stance here and suggest one side is better than other.

Well I thought we were going to blow the game open once we took the lead 20-10 but the defense allowed the vikings right back in it. Glad they held on at the end but it shouldn't have come to that in the 1st place. And the offense was better today since they came out after the half and scored 21 pts. It was the defense who allowed the vikings to take the lead late in the game. But on the saints

Perhaps, but Miles is only good for a game here or there. At least the ROOKIE is playing every game and doing a damn good job for a kid.

So why wasn't the offense lighting it up against a team that has most of it's secondary out? I'm not going to say the defense did a stellar job, but given the amount of people they have out and how many guys off the street playing, they played well enough. Romo stepped up at the end, but really, it should not have had to come to that.

We were LOSING at halftime 6 to 10. There is NO reason the cowboys with all of its offensive talent and with the injuries to the Vikings secondary, should only manage to put 6 points on the board at half. The offense didn't score 21 points after the half. The defense helped put 7 on the board. This is yet another streak in the cowboys offense of putting 2 touchdowns on the board. If we don't get scores from special teams or defense, we end up losing games.

You shouldn't have confidence in the defense to begin with, its bad, no one can argue that. All it needs to do is keep us in the game. We should have an offense that can keep up with any team..

My thing is, I don't believe the defense was good coming into the year and it's only gotten worse because of injuries. All of that said, they've created turnovers and unfortunately, we haven't capitalized as much as we should have.
