This year we should be prepared for the hardest sales pitch we've ever seen

I honestly don't think the Jerry micromanagement style will ever produce a team capable of a deep playoff run. Almost thirty years of evidence coupled with Jerry doubling down with “all in” nonsense while our nfc east rival outspends Jerry by $100 million tells me all I need to know.

I admire your optimism.
its not optimism, its just not accepting as fact things you dont know. You talk of Jerry's micromanagement... but fish says Jerry isnt nearly as involved in the details as people think. All of you faughn over Will McClay..... but why? If Jerrry is such a micromanager, why would we care if we have will or not?

They don’t need to sell us, even if only 19.9% of fans are optimistic- they will tune in. They’ll be buying, they’ll be watching. The sell job is already complete.

We all know Jerry Jones could sell sand in the desert. There is no doubt he is as gifted a businessman and salesman there is. But his playoff record also shows he is not a GM who understands how to put a championship roster together in the salary cap era. We have receipts.

The 28 straight seasons with not even a divisional playoff win and somehow JJ is still running this team with a tight grip has decreased fan base optimism like never before.

Don’t take my word for, there is a recent fan base survey that shows exactly that. A survey conducted this summer by the pay site The Athletic (why I can’t link it) shows that only 19.9% of Cowboys fans are optimistic about the 2024 season. That’s 31st in the league, only behind giants fans. Wow! So JJ and SJ clearly know after the most embarrassing playoff loss in team history last January, and the evidence in this survey that this Cowboys fan base is as angry and frustrated as I have ever seen it.

Here is a link to a Sports Illustrated article that is free on this topic: https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news/dallas-cowboys-fans-pessimistic-entering-season-opener#:~:text=Despite%20winning%2036%20regular%20season,%2DO%2DMeter'%20poll.

As a result, we have seen and will continue to see a full court sales press by Jerry and Stephen. It’s one reason why JJ sat down for a long interview with Stephen A Smith. It’s why Stephen Jones is already carnival barking on his weekly radio show. He says the same things every year, he’s just using all the sales talking points earlier than usual. Expect the sales pitch to reach fever pitch early this season. I actually think JJ and SJ know the fans are fed up with them and that their credibility is on thinner ice than ever before.

Some will call this “pessimistic” or a downer, or “whining” but it’s just the reality of being a Cowboys fan right now. All this can change very quickly if the Cowboys have great season that includes winning at least a couple of playoff games. As a 60 year Cowboys fan, that’s what I deeply want.

Winning, especially in the playoffs, cures all ills. So advice to JJ and SJ: The only sales pitch that will work now is playoff wins (plural)
All that poll shows is that the Cowboys have by far the most fair weather fans. Just look at this place! Crawling with fair weather fans

This is where I’m at Bob.

Talk is cheap. I’m tired of the Jones and their snake oil sales.

I’m not going to believe any of the BS they’re selling. All that matters are the results, until they actually show they can make a playoff run. I’m not going to expect it to happen.
Exactly. Barkley and Henry were both available and we got Zeke

You are so off based about me. You are the type that embarrasses the true fans.
I do not take it year after year, nor do I buy any merchandise. There is nothing I need or want.
So they are not laughing at me all the way to the bank.

You support them as other fans by watching and posting.

I do not make excuses. I am critical when need be. I do not need to whine and cry about every. I do not find or create something negative of some positive news.
BS. You are not critical, you are a cheerleader. You let them run your favorite team into the ground for decades and still make excuses for their incompetence

That's just completely wrong. No SB in 30 years, a playoff disaster year after year when they do make the post season, no major attempt to upgrade the team in free agency (probably less than every single other team) even when they state they are "all in" and yet the board is full of fans who are here year after year after year rooting for their team. You are confusing fair weather with objective.

And you are still wrong. You can’t even take my post for the truth. Tells me all I need to know.

What does no SB in 28 years have to do with anything? Either you‘re a fan or not. They deserve criticism for sure but not 365x24x7. That’s the difference.

It’s a myth that Jerry is a great salesman. What he is, is a great investor. Nobody that I have ever seen has bought a Jerry Jones sales pitch.

You have not seen anything yet just wait before the ink is dry on Dak’s extension he will be talking about the SB team he is fielding this season and he knows it is a deep run coming.

It’s not the talking that hurts us. It’s his actions or even lack of actions at times. Talk doesn’t matter. Results do.
Jerry saying he was going all in made some of us to believe our own views of all in and not Jerry's. Our bad.

And then there is reality. If Jerry Jones canned his farts Cowboys fans would line up to buy them at $100 per can. They’d pay $500 for a shot glass of his piss…$600 if there’s a Cowboys logo on it. He doesn’t need a sales pitch. It’s not like any Cowboys fan is going to stop pulling for the team.
