Three guys that impressed you, three guys that didn't.

green made a great catch, but it was the only throw our trick qb really made tonight."

I was really looking forward to watching Tanney, and was fairly disappointed in him. To be fair, Bedford didn't give him much separation to work with, and he was rushed in the pocket quite a bit. He gave us that one beautiful highlight play to Green, and that was about it.

tanney is his own worst enemy. he made a video that shows him making some serious trick shots. but how many times did he have to try to get the "success" he was after?

the throw to green was magic. everything else was crap.

neither potential 3rd string qb made a case for us keeping them around tonight.

Impressed

Selvie - can he keep it up?
Randle - how sad are folks gonna be when tanner doesn't make the squad.
#38 - not sure of name but was always around the ball.

Unimpressed.

Tanney - all hype
Rogers - did he play?
Wilcox - not worried, seemed to have underestimated game speed.

Stock Up:

George Selvie
Travis Frederick
Phillip Tanner

Stock Down:
Cole Beasley
Pellerin (not really sure your stock can go down if it was never up to begin with, but he had such an atrocious game)

Quit relying on stats and actually WATCH him play. "Hmmm... let me look at the stat sheet... I see no TFL or sacks given up so he must have played well". Give me a break, the guy plays the game on roller skates. I appreciate his fight, but he's not any good.

No, you don't think he's any good. I thought he played well. He moves well and gives effort. Reminds me a bit of Kosier. You can't have all pros at every position. If the starting 5 we threw out there last night is as good as it gets, I'm ok with it.

Wilcox and Johnson are getting a lot of heat on here for being "lost". I didn't see that, I saw 2 guys that have instincts and they are always around the ball. You can't teach that, with experience they will get better in coverage and I feel good about the Saftey position because these guys will get better the more they play

Keep in mind Cole had 2 horribly thrown balls to him, would have most likely been two completions and a TD with Romo in the game.

I thought the slant he dropped was pretty well thrown.... The TD was under thrown but I still think he could have caught it

Its really not worth debating.. we'll all see when the final roster is announced anyway. But Beasley will get considerable time in the offense this year, imo. Miles and Dez are the clear one and two for us.. and after that, i believe time will be split pretty evenly between T Will, Harris, and Beasley.

Beasley will not get as much time as Williams or Harris... No where close, unless they get hurt. That's pretty a pretty silly statement. I do think The 5th receiver spot is Beasley's to lose as of right now. But if he continues to play poorly he can easily lose that spot to Anthony Armstrong. I think you have delusions about what kind of player Cole Beasley is. He has done nothing to think he gets a roster spot by just showing up. I like Cole and I'm rooting for him but he has to play better than he did last night

It was only one game.

Lets stack one good preseason game after another and then I'll give you my list. ;)

What? o_O It was a scrub game and he had no QB! Let's see how he does with Romo and the starters out there.

Liked:

Monte Kiffin
Slevie
Frederick

Disliked:

Escobar
Backup Qbs
CB Pellereni (or something)

Agree, but Cole Beasley doesn't just make the team because he's Cole Beasley, he has to perform. He dropped and easy first down and he should have caught the ball in the end zone he also had trouble twice when he went in motion, costing the team a timeout on one of them. not a big deal in a preseason game but that would be a big deal in a regular season game, but anyway you slice it that was a poor performance... I'm not trying to crusify him over 1 game but at the same time he has to play well because there are 2 or 3 other guys trying that are capable of claiming that 5th WR spot...

Agree 100%! He needs to step up if he wants to keep his role as a slot receiver. I think he will over the next several weeks as long as he stays healthy.

1. Frederick. Looked good at OC versus 1s and great at OG versus 2/3s.

2. Leary. Really moved piles. Looked far more athletic than last year. Chance to win job seems ot have him going 100 miles per hour.

3. RBs/TEs. Both groups looked really strong as units.

need more:

1. our back up QBs are um not that good.

2. Weems looked unathletic and like a 2010-2012 Cowboys OL....

3. injuries... Bass and Johnson looked good in spot duty. Need those guys to stay healthy in NFL action.
