If that is the case and it is true the NFL is going to lose some fans. This is down right psychotic....

I guess the NFL wants to send out feelers to gauge public opinion of the potential suspension. Seems like they want the public's approval before they move with anything. Such cowards. How can anyone have respect for an organization like that?

There can't be any other reason to call up someone in the media and leak this "new" information.

I WISH I could lose my interest in the league. I haven't yet. But if this PC crap continues, I'll get there sooner rather than later.

The league has definitely resorted these day's to putting a wet finger up to the wind to see which way the wind is blowing.

I once supported the league policing itself. They've shown themselves to be incapable.

And i hope its a wake up call for Jerry to shut his mouth on ongoing investigations and stop lobbying the league to loosen or abolish mandated marijuana test along with continuing to lead the league with suspended players.

Does anyone know how long the NFL usually investigates incidents like this? It's been over a year on a case that has already been investigated by the state and found that the case didn't hold water. Outside of that you have Zeke pulling down a woman's shirt. Nothing illegal about that, she didn't seem to mind. The nightclub incident which I believe a witness came forward and said it was definitely not Zeke. I think he had a speeding ticket as well but last I checked you don't get suspended for those. They are looking for something, anything, that they can pin on him. That's why this has gone on for so long.

I agree with that completely, in general.

But I understand with his irritation over an investigation that has lasted more than a year.

Absurd.

This suspension will be all on Jerry not Zeke unless there's some very revealing evidence or video we haven't seen.

But what idiots speak openly on a pending investigation?

Only someone trying to influence public opinion which could be considered obstruction .

Agree if I wasn't a diehard Cowboys fan this crap would make it hard to be interested in following...I mean if this were some Ray Rice or Hardy type of issue it would be one thing but there is no evidence to support that is the case.

I'm expecting a suspension .

I have been too largely because of the fact the way the story has unfolded. League takes a year to figure out what to do, it's been leaked recently to the press that some decision is coming and some have opined that a suspension will happen............... the NFL took massive amounts of heat over the Rice situation and then compounded that with the Brown incident last year.

They most certainly cannot just let Elliott walk after they've spent a year trying to get dirt on him and expect people to take their whole "we take domestic violence cases seriously" mantra.

How about every owner, GM, and coach in these situations.

And this isn't an "investigation" in the police sense. This is a bunch of operations people playing cop.

Yea but you'd think an owner can get some sort of feeler from what the league is going to do with one of his players, especially one as powerful as Jerry

This is a bit much. Because in the end, if they are doing it out of a vendetta against Jones for talking, they know there's a good chance Jones will fight back and could win. That would be a very embarrassing moment for them.

They must think they have something they can fall back on here.

It would be almost criminal to make Zeke pay for the league's mishandling of Ray Rice.

Call me a rebel, but I miss the days when the NFL just turned a blind eye to issues that could be resolved outside of football.

It used to be a release and escape from all the messed up things in the world. Nowadays, they bring those issues in to stir up ratings.

My concern is Jerrys mouth on the matter and culture here with suspended players is going to influence the decision.

Without Jerry and our history here I believe it's clear cut there's no suspension.
How could any culture in Dallas with suspended players have anything to do with Zeke's case?

BTW even with Jerry it's clear there should be no suspension.

How about Zeke conduct himself like a professional Football player and therefore wouldn't give the NFL constant incidents to investigate, because but for his conduct off the field, he wouldn't be facing an investigation and possible suspension.

So you want him to conduct himself like others...then go out and do worse things....

They'd better have a helluva lot more than what the police, and we, know.
I think your setting yourself up for disappointment.

Plus your wanting to place this all on the league. It's not like they manufactured all of these incidents nor the factors Jerry presents .

If I'm representing the rest of the league I'm sending a message to Zeke, Jerry and the rest of the league that with revenue dipping and all surrounding the negative culture in the NFL the leash has been shortened .

The league's go-to move now seems to be "destroying evidence on a cellphone."

I'd like to see the trash on Roger Goodell's cellphone he'd want nobody to see.
