No, I'm just preparing for the decision and looking to why it's being made. Looking outside the Cowboy realm . I'm not sure all Cowboy fans are able to seperate their fandom from what is in the best interest of the NFL, the networks , their sponsors and all related. The image of the NFL is at stake not just Zeke or the Cowboys season.

I can understand that viewpoint. But there is only one incident that would fall under that.

A person, no matter what, is not responsible for what courses and investigators find as false allegations. how can they help that, and any rational person would know not to hold that against that player, the team or the NFL. However there are many un-rational people, and most use it as their anti-establishment agenda.
The bar fight, nothing there either. No charges, case dropped, same as the DV.

But yet the NFL hurts it's own image by wanting to be judge, juey and executioner, and with a die hard Giants fan leading it.

So the only thing for image purposes was the pulling down the lady's top, even though she had no issues with it, it should not have been done.

The NFL is hurting themselves in this, not Zeke. He is being hurt by it being drawn out.

It would be almost criminal to make Zeke pay for the league's mishandling of Ray Rice.

Oh I agree and the Brown case too.

But the NFL has painted themselves into a corner. I suspect they call Jones' bluff and punish Elliott. It will be up to Jerry to decide if a fight is worth it or if he'll take the long view like he did with the cap penalties and play the good soldier.

Let us remember, Friel admitted to having a "Giants shrine" in her home.

That is who is conducting this investigation.
Already looking to discredit the messenger. Lol

I'm not sure why we can't look outside our passion of the game to the tough decisions which must be made by the league ?

How about Zeke conduct himself like a professional Football player and therefore wouldn't give the NFL constant incidents to investigate, because but for his conduct off the field, he wouldn't be facing an investigation and possible suspension.

One could argue that he did conduct himself like a professional football player, lol.

League office apparently leaks details of looming Ezekiel Elliott suspension

Two years ago, someone at 345 Park Avenue leaked to Stephen A. Smith of ESPN the notion that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had destroyed his cell phone in connection with the #Deflategate investigation. Within a day of the leak, Brady was suspended four games due in part to the allegation that he’d destroyed his cell phone.

Now, it seems like someone at 345 Park Avenue has leaked to Cris Carter of FS1 the notion that Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is about to be suspended, with some eye-opening details.

Via Ryan Glasspiegel of TheBigLead.com, Carter said on FS1’s Undisputed that “in the next 48 hours I would be shocked if Zeke was not suspended.” Carter added that, “based on the information that’s going to come out, it’s going to be fairly easy to determine that something happened to this woman in her four days of being with Zeke.” (The specific allegation is that Elliott committed five acts of domestic violence in a six-day window.)

Carter described the situation as a case of “assault or domestic violence,” and Carter hinted that “when the information comes out there’s going to be some similarities” to Tom Brady’s suspension, including “information that he had been advised possibly to give up, that was destroyed.”

Carter ultimately suggested that Elliott’s banishment will be in the range of Brady’s four-game suspension. If this happens, it will contradict multiple proclamations from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones regarding the absence of any evidence of domestic violence.

That said, there’s no guarantee that Carter’s comments will be borne out by the eventual facts. He was careful to couch his terms in a way that would protect him from @OldTakesExposed, stopping short of reporting anything but merely sharing what he’s hearing. (Then again, Smith used similar tiptoe terms with Brady, prompting a negative reaction from him to our posts on the issue and generating some of our all-time favorite drops from his daily radio show, including “Mike Florio needs to grow the hell up” and “Would you please break a damn story?”)

If what Carter is hearing is accurate, it’s likely not a coincidence that someone from the league office saw fit to prime the pump by leaking startling information about Brady’s case in 2015 and now Elliott’s case to one of the weekday morning #EmbraceDebate shows. Getting inflammatory information into the public domain now makes it less stunning when the league issues its press release.

It’s nevertheless odd that the league office would see fit to hand such sensitive information regarding crime and punishment to a player who once urged rookies to arrange for a fall guy.

Obviously we'll wait and see what happens, but this has shades of the Dez Bryant "ten times worse than the Ray Rice tape" story that turned out to be a bunch of crap.

Edit: and I see this one was written by Florio - even better! Same source, same crap!

It's not worth risking losing another 8% in revenue this year league wide so we can prevent players like Zeke not to be suspended .

You really believe the other 31 teams are more concerned what it means for us to go without Zeke for a few games versus the prospects of protecting their image .

Set your Cowboy shades down for a moment and act like your protecting all the teams and business relying on the revenue to maintain.

If you don't think Jerry's culture and rhetoric aren't a player in this that's your choice but then you might not be able to fully grasp the decision and what went into it.

I'm expecting 6 games and appealed down to 2 or 4 games.
So let's say I'm the Cowboys. The NFL announces they are going to suspend Elliott for 6 games due to the domestic violence incident. As of right now, going off what you and I both know, there is no concrete evidence. The case was thrown out, the girl was obviously lying, witnesses say nothing happened, etc. Am I appealing the ruling? Yes. If it is reduced to two games, am I going to appeal to a federal court? You're damn right. Unless the league shows they have evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that Zeke was involved in domestic violence I am not letting this go. As other poster's stated, this sets a scary precedent for all current and future NFL players if a suspension is handed down.

Well the facts are there. The "messenger" in this case, Friel, is a life long Giants fan whose office went light on a Giants player last year only to have it come out days later that the guy was a total monster and should have been banned for much longer.

Friel's office conducted a quick and incomplete investigation to put a case behind them just happens to involve a player on her favorite team and conversely, has spent a full year trying to find something on one of the better players of her rival teams.

Now, am I saying she's definitely showing a lack of impartiality here? No. But what I am saying is that the appearance is there.

The last paragraph about tough decisions the league has to make in matters like this is a totally laughable comment given how they have botched so many of these cases already. Why change now?

I represent a segment which support self policing. I've had about enough of the thug culture in the NFL.

The NFL is based in NY. I wonder if most of the investigators are prob Giant or Jets fans. Would you feel better if it was a Jets fan? C'mon Man.

I'm sure this investigator is going to place their career in law on the line for a favorable decision which could help the Giants in the opener . Wow

Carter was on Cowherd last Friday and said the same. I was surprised that noone really picked up on it. Maybe because HOF weekend was in motion. Anyway I expect a suspension, Elliot will appeal and we'll likely be in limbo for another few months.

Calls herself a "rabid Giants fan", appointed by Mara and Goodell, takes more than a year to conduct an investigation over a proven false allegation......

As stated by another poster.......this could very well be one the situation where he's suspended X number of games that end being reduced by an appeal (for example.. let's say he's suspended 4 that are reduced to 1-2 ).
