What's wrong about it? That it's all true? It's not my fault that I just have a better memory about the 04 draft. Not that it's important mind you. Info like that just sticks in my memory when I like a certain player or players. Followed that draft and the lead up to it because I was hoping we could somehow get Manning. I know, I know; it seems crazy now, but not in 04 when our hopes were pinned on Carter (before he was canned of course), Testaverde and Henson. Plus, none of us knew we already had a franchise QB on the roster.

No, its not all true.

First off, most people had Rivers rated a first round pick when he went to the Senior Bowl. After his performance during practice and the game itself, he moved up into a solid very early selection. I dont know of anybody that publicly said they believed Rivers was a middle round pick before that Senior Bowl.

The Chargers didnt pass on Roesthlisberger (the obvious "franchise QB") and only take Rivers as "a flier", they traded Manning for the rights to Rivers because they believed he was a sensational prospect. Most believe the Chargers instructed the Giants to take Rivers so the trade could be worked out. The Chargers didnt believe Brees was the "answer" and thats why they selected Rivers.

They are NOT taking Tebow that high...come on. They need help in plenty of areas (pass rush, interior Oline, safety), so why would they pick a risky, developmental player in the 1st (or even 2nd or 3rd) round?

Now they may make that trade for other reasons...I could actually see that happening. Just not for Tebow.

I'd love to have any of those players that you mentioned.

I think anybody that selects Tebow in the first 3 rounds should fire their scouting department, or if the owner has overruled the scouts he should grant them immunity for the guys imminent failure as a QB.

Tebow is not a NFL QB. Terrible mechanics, accuracy problems, average arm strength on short/intermediate. He's also won't be the short yardage threat he was in college either.

We wouldn't be talking about him if he wasn't such a nice guy with top notch intangibles. I see him as a H-Back and a guy who will be a great leader on the sidelines, but not a starter.

He should go into coaching where he could really excel.

Jags lost $30M last year, Tebow drew thousands at the SB practice. They have no 2nd, it makes a ton of sense for them to trade back. They get local icon Tebow plus 2 more picks

Oh good God no. What a waste of a roster spot for this team.

Watching the senior bowl, it became very obvious that Tebow is an average quarterback against an NFL quality pass rush that the North squad brought forth. They magnified his shortfalls as a QB to an immense degree that I was ALMOST shocked.

We already have a fullback.

I stand corrected. This is now a formality. Our late 1st round pick will be Tebow at FB. Thanks Deon...
