Can our outside pass rush be any worse? Why not activate Sam and give him some 3rd down snaps? Just take Lavar Edwards active roster spot this week...

Haven't heard much about Sam for awhile. How is he doing in practice? Can he be any worse than someone like Edwards?

He's a SDE and I doubt he'd come in and immediately be better than Spencer or Selvie. If he was a WDE I think he'd have been given a chance, since they been playing some horrible guys behind Mincey.

Well it had been like two weeks since we had a Michael Sam thread, so I'm glad this got here before I started to go through withdrawals.

If he was good, he'd be on the field. We've been through every re-tread JAG at DL in the leauge over the last two years, they'd put him out there if they thought he'd make a difference.

I'm sure DLawrence will use LEdwards roster spot before Sam. I think Lawrence can be activated for the Arizona game.

DE's Spencer, DLawrence, Selvie, Mincey, JCrawford. No room for Sam.

I'm all for it. Rushing the passer is supposed to be the one thing he is good at right now and that is the one thing we need.

Coaches see and work with Sam everyday. If he was a better option don't you think he'd be on the active roster?

This. ..which would turn the OPs question one of those be careful what you ask for. ..cause you might not like the response.

Well, is he showing any progress at least?

I recall reading a JG quote recently where he basically stated that Sam is doing what's asked of him and is improving- but he just needs more work.

Like someone else already mentioned, the side he plays is already occupied by Spencer and Selvie primarily. Sam's probably not an improvement over either of them at this point.

Umm ... not always the case. We didn't know what we had in Tony Romo, Miles Austin, and Demarco Murray until we gave them a chance to play.

I'm just sayin ...

I can't imagine that he has earned his spot on an active roster, and thus, he is not on it...if the are going to put him on an active roster, I could see it in London...they play one of the worst teams in the league and then get a bye...that is almost a perfect storm of less media coverage at least...

I really hope Marinelli gets a noble peace prize or something for what he's doing... Looking at our DL depth chart I see 1 guy who will be here 2 years from now.. Crawford.... You can add Lawrence to the list when he gets off IR.. I see a major influx of talent coming.. Just like what happened to the OL.
