Problem with rolling the dice is who is rolling the dice; I DO NOT TRUST JJ TO GET A GOOD REPLACEMENT!!!!!

Me either honestly, he hired Parcells but putting a band aid on a gun shot wound will not help. We all know Parcells is leaving. If he comes back it will be as a token coach for 1 year. Not really what I want to look forward to.

Starving franchises like Cleveland, and shal we say HOUSTON, would love to have what we have right now. Detroit would like to have a winning season to, ya know.

Yes, 2 games over .500 in 4 years is exactly what mediocre franchises desire.......more mediocrity!!!

Only to us.

I hate to use the "starving children in Africa" analogy, but it fits.

when the goal and league is geared to winning it all, quick outs in the playoffs, when we do manage to get there, like it or not is indicitive of coaching.

Sorry, I don't agree.

To me, it's a problem.

He didn't come here for these results.

If Owens caught 50 passes this year, for 6 TD's. We'd say that he didn't live up to expectation and his salary.

If Crayton had the same numbers, we'd say "Great season"

It's about expectations.

And that's the problem when you come with a resume like Parcells did AND get the money he did.

It simply raises expecations. And it should.

and i'm not gonna hold onto 4 years of slightly above average as a factor to think the 5th will be any different.

But, what if you have too? If Parcells comes back this year, you have no choice, unless you choose to root for a different team. So, this "i'm not gonna hold onto 4 years" stuff has no merit.

Oh my.

So, it's come to this? We compare what has happened here to Cleveland, Houston and Detroit (who beat us)....We compare to Campo...and we say "Hey, this is just fine"

Thanks.

I just realized I have some laundry to do.

Have a nice day.

Here's a promising candidate. His name is Roger Greenlee. He sleeps over a heating grate on 5th Avenue in New York. Over the past four years, he has the exact same # of playoff wins as Bill.

The point was that the really bad franchises would like to be where we are NOW. WE want to be where the Pats and company are NOW. We are maybe one step away; maybe two. One or two players and a more aggressive D coach and I think we are there.

who are YOU or anyone else to decide that there is no one better at THIS time? If this was last year and we were naming names and I named Sean Payton what would you say? you would laugh in my face - what about Eric Mangini - you would probably still laugh in my face. Look how those 2 turned out. You - Me - and pretty mcuh the rest of us on this board are a far cry from being able to determine who is a better option than BP at this time. HOWEVER - because I DONT know who is a better option has no merit as to whether or not there is indeed a better option out there. I find it nearly IMPOSSIBLE that there is NOONE out there who can take what we have on this team and have them perform BETTER than parcells has. Bottom line is Parcells ISNT getting the job done - PERIOD.

This post is excellent.

And once again this thread is for the names. Its easy to PONTIFICATE and make all sorts of NOISE about how we need better coaching. BUT when it comes down to giving a name and defending it- I see a whole lot of YELLOW around here.

This time last year you would group New Orleans in with that group of losers too, and they are in the NFC Championship game. How many steps away were they last year?

As the replacement for BP. Stipulate now or next year. And give reasons and evidence to support your pick.
Next year.I think a lot of Big Bill's downfall has been he has not had all his guys on the coaching staff. He now has that oppurtunity.Staff is important.
I think you go after Bob Stoops and here's why.Bob is smart enough to realize that he is not near the coach without his defensive minded brother.Mike.Very important, as has been witnessed at his current program.Good program still, but not near as succsessful since Mikes departure.
Now here is where most will not be able to go there with me ,but hear me out.
You hire Mike Leach as offensive cord.Let me know when your done laughing.
You have to agree with me on one thing the man absolutely believes in his philosiphy and has been able to make others believe in it as well.He firmly believes it can and will translate to the NFL.He has achieved succsess with it, you have to agree on that.
Now I'm not saying that he and Stoops won't alter to some degree, but I am certainly not going to say it won't work.If a person believes in what they are doing and everyone on the team believes it as well, you can make it happen.
The three have worked together succsessfully before. They are all young, highly motivated, energetic coaches. They have the ability together to change the way the Nfc landscape with regards to stopping the Dallas Cowboys.
Now I know the detracters will lambast me big time. But do your homework on these three individually and separately, and it will make your argument a little harder against them.Unless your argument is simply they are college coaches.
I'm not buying the Steve Spurrior B.S. ,for this simple fact....Daniel Snyder.I believe the man could dissolve Lombardi's legacy in just a short time.
Honestly I also believe the Ole' ballcoach was all about the Benjiman's anyway.
Well that's my story, not sayin' it's the best thing going. It sure has the potential for ,innovation, excitement and putting many loud fans in the seats.

Stoops- just does not make me think he can really do it at the pro level. More of a feeling then anything else. Not much I admit. Of all the current college coaches that we could maybe get- the Boise State coach (who schooled Stoops BIG TIME) would be my pick if I had to go that way.
