Time to put Witten in the Ring?

Jerry's afraid to put anyone in now because he knows everyone expects Jimmy to go in first. And Witten, Romo and Ware are waiting so Jerry do the right thing.

I think Ware, Romo, and Witten can all go in eventually. Witten had a historical career for a TE vs Romo who had a good career for a QB but not one of historical or statistically significance in the broader NFL. You could argue that Romo helped make Witten, Witten so if anything they probably go in together.

Romo’s name keeps coming up but I don’t think he’ll ever get in the ROH. We won nothing with him and he was 2-4 in the playoffs. Jason Witten will definitely get in and DWare will likely get in. Both will be in the Hall of Fame.

Agree on Witten.
Question, is there a player in the Ring of Honor also a part of another team’s ring of honor. If the answer is no, Deion has no chance since he is in Atlanta.

Haley is in there and he played for the Cowboys in same amount of years than Deion. Years of service isn’t an excuse.
There are players around the league that are in more than one ROH. P. Manning is in the Colts and Broncos for example.

Harvey Martin should be the next one in the ROH and it's a travesty that he isn't already.

I understand that but Jerry haven’t put players in who were put in the other teams ring of honor first.
Deion was the last great fa pickup for the Cowboys and he isn’t in and my theory is that Jerry took it personal about Deion and his relationship with Blank and the Falcons.

To be honest I don't feel any connection to Romo, Ware or Witten.
If I had to pick one, I guess it would be Witten, but all in all...meh .

What did Witten ever win?

Jay Novacek ; 3× Super Bowl champion (XXVII, XXVIII, XXX); First-team All-Pro (1992); Second-team All-Pro (1991); 5× Pro Bowl (1991–1995); All-WAC (1984) ; 3× ...

I can see that.

but Romo owns most of the passing records.

And by the time Prescott retires it's likely he'll own the records, but if no championship results from his efforts he won't belong either.

It's been 7 years since Jerry has put a player in the Ring of Honor. Isn't Witten the most likely next one up there? I guess the other two candidates would be D. Ware and Deion (though Deion maybe won't get in because he only played here 5 seasons).
There is zero doubt that it will happen.

Witten was one of Jerry's favorite players.

Witten eligible for HoF in 2026. He probably goes in the RoH in 2025.
