If Miami was interested in trading Miller, I feel he would be a good fit. Word is Ajay is not impressing, though.

It's too late now. We're just going to have to see who is cut. Unless we go out and get Chris Johnson. Better hurry though.

If we are throwing out hypotheticals I would call Seattle and see what it would take to get Thomas Rawls from them.

I have said all along I think Forte could be had for a reasonable cost and fits what we do. Right now he is on bad team, and he is on the last year of a contract.
Offer a 3rd or 2nd if we hoist Lombardi.

That's too steep of a cost. We have to stay more within the price range. I have a feeling DMC better get his act together. He has shown nothing and costs next to nothing. Nothing=nothing at this point. This is going to be an interesting week for the Dallas running game.

Just a thought. I was watching the Cowboys game again and was really impressed with Branden Oliver. The Cowboys are unlikely to trade for a marquee name like Matt Forte. However, there is a better chance that they would replace Dunbar with a player who is similar to Branden Oliver. He didn't have an overly impressive stats last year but (160 carries for 582 yards and 3 TD's, 36 catches for 271 yards and 1 TD) looked impressive during against Cowboys (10 carries for 53 yards and 1 TD). He displayed power and a compact frame. One would think he would do even better behind our line. He is more durable than Dunbar and we need someone else who can carry the load. If we are going to have a true running back by committee, we need to upgrade the talent.

I think our most viable trade options for a respectable RB would be:

Hanna - Not sure what he would bring but a complete TE who plays ST may be attractive to a team.

Escobar - I would hate to lose him but he may be our best bait for a starter quality RB

Jeremy Mincey - Rush ends are premium maybe we could sell high?

Devin Street - Another nice game and maybe he becomes attractive

I'm just looking at options with the least team impact. Please offer opinion on what these guys could bring or someone that could bring us a RB in a trade.

Let me get this straight. We haven't even seen our top 3 candidates, and it is already time to trade for a RB?

I'm not going to lie and say this stable of backs has my confidence. On the other hand, I'm not going to dismiss the possibility that 1 of the 3 has improved in his ability from a year ago. Right now the smart move for the Cowboys is no move. At least wait until the final cut down to 53 to see of a potential upgrade is released and/or team's have a better idea of what they need and are more willing to deal to avoid the waivers process.

I'm not in disagreement but we need a healthy running back now who can play and handle the load. These pansies we have are not making me feel comfortable. Maybe I have a case of the Jerry's but these guys scare me.

I dont see a team trading their starting RB at this point in the season and the only back up RB who is worth giving up a draft pick for is Kniles Davis from KC in my opinion.

Other then him, Dallas would be better off signing Pierre Thomas, CJ2k or Ray Rice.

Right now we have DMC which IMO is a pipe dream for >7 games. Dunbar the scat back and an unproven starter. That's why.
It's safe to say the Cowboys front office doesn't agree with that statement about time to trade for a RB. Especially since we haven't seen our guys play yet. At some point we might decide to make a deal. But that time isn't now.

If pierre would take snaps and make it through a train ride or the team film session without getting hurt I'm in.

If that time comes which player do you shop?

But WHAT changed?
That is what we've had all offseason.
Can you explain why now?

Lets see a couple more preseason games before go trading the farm for a RB......I like Stephen Jones plan....let it play out an exercise a little patience.

I'm not for trading the farm. I'm looking for sensible trades for a back that can play. Right now we have 0. Maybe sum we have 1.75 total from 5 guys

What has Randle done on the field to make you sure that he can't play?
