Insane is trying to convince people that Barry Switzer was a bad coach because someone started a rumor about Troy Aikman being Gay and he didn't stop it and then trying to give Troy Aikmans super bowl trophy to a coach that hadn't been on the team in 2 years. Barry Switzer done what he was asked to do and if you don't think he had anything to do with winning the last super bowl then you must agree with Jerry that anybody could've coached the team.

I have to give Barry credit. He had sense enough not to come in and screw things up. He knew how good the team was.

They should just settle this in a Steel Cage Match in Cowboy Stadium. "Jerry vs Jimmy, The match to Claim the Dynasty". Barry can be Jerry's Manager and Norv can be Jimmy's!

I would pay for it.

How did Jimmy fare in Miami w/o Jerry?

Close the thread.

End of story.

If Jerry had the freedom to get rid of Marino like he wanted to do it would have been a different story, but he was stuck with a QB who's best days were long behind him.

Without Jerry? Seriously? Get help.

If you guys think a control freak like Johnson would let a novice run his football team, then I just don't know what to say.

I seriously doubt someone like a Parcells coulda kept their ego in check and not monkey around and try to put their fingerprints on it. He was the right guy for the team at that time.

No doubt a tyrant would not work after Jimmy, had to be guys like a Fisher or Gruden, guys with a little discipline and a lot of motivation.

However we likely could have done better than a Barry or Wade.

But that's another rant:)

Yes, you're right. A person sitting on his coach that nobody hired before or after we did was the right man for the job.

Your missing the point.

He wasn't hired to go win coach of the year or rebuild a team. It turned out as good as could be expected.

They still got another SB and 2 more NFC chamionship games out of that team, I cant really think of but 2 other coaching changes that turned out that good(going from one sb wining coach to another) without a complete tear down. Walsh to Siefert and Cowher to Tomlin and Tomlin had a much younger team. Maybe Vermeil to Martz.

I agree with the bolded part. But therein lies the rub. Why wouldn't you hire the best possible candidate? Especially with free agency taking hold and the need to re-stock depth on the roster? In 1994, Aikman, Irvin and Smith were in the prime of their careers. Aikman was 28 years old and already had two rings under his belt. We could have done better than one more NFC Championship Game and one more Superbowl so I disagree that it turned out as well as could be expected Don't get me wrong, I appreciated 1995 as much as anyone. But the team began to erode to the point that Aikman considered retiring in his prime. That's how bad it got.

Why does our success of the early 90's have to belong to one or the other ?
Jerry in my opinion is a great Owner, but not GM.
In the early 90's he was very helpful to Jimmy in a supportive role.
I remember Jerry getting our #1 draft picks signed and in camp on a regular basis.
So why can't we give both credit, as each played their role in those SB Team's accomplishments ?

LOL. I am sick of Jerry vs anybody.or Jerry by himself. Have you missed the last 18 seasons? Jimmy wasn't here, but Jerry sure was.
