There is though. We just committed to developing Prescott. He needs snaps. We can't have another guy here taking that away.

Zach was a marginal college prospect. He did little in the pros to establish that he could play well at this level.

and dak will get his snaps, to be sure. the question isn't will he hinder daks development or push him to develop better, and faster? i honestly don't care whether they bring him in or not but i don't see the harm in bringing in someone like ZM to just give a chance and look. it's $600k at best and let's face it, is moore really our backup? maybe. but let them figure it out on the field.

Truth be told, I liked Mettenberger coming out of LSU at the time. I believe he could have developed here and showed promise with our coaching staff, but 0-10 under center, he could be damage goods at this point and I rather roll with what we have now.

I get the veteran aspect of the signing, but the Titans felt the need to let him go in order to sign Matt Cassell, who most Cowboys fans (including myself) felt like Cassell couldn't throw a party, yet along a football.

Veteran or not, you don't cut players with potential, especially if said player has a franchise friendly salary at 600,000k.

Did you read his case? Under-aged freshman drunk off his butt he groped a waitress at the bar.

I did. If that was my daughter and some sphincter put hands on her I would have killed him.

There was no gray line here, no previous relationship at all. And her occupation has no factor.

I hope she kicked his butt for it but I don't think that makes him a piece of crap that doesn't get to move on from that.

I have Daughters so I understand this point of view but honestly, if you don't want your Daughters laid hands on, then it's probably better to make sure she is not waiting tables. I mean, it's not right by any means but it's pretty much inevitable. People are going to hit on waitresses and even waiters to honest. It's just a fact of life, unfortunately.

Would love for my daughter's to skip adolescence too but we can't shelter them from life. Any woman doesn't matter her employment will be leered at or spoken to disrespectfully. But for someone to lay hands on a stranger is another thing entirely. More so touching anyone without invitation is unacceptable.

There has to be consequences and letting people off due to broken social mores must be unacceptable as well. Otherwise problem is never fixed. A waitress should not be treated like less than trash simply because she has no other means to support herself. Waitresses may not be your daughter but they are someone's daughter, granddaughter, wife sister, mother ....

He dealt with those consequences several years ago. Welcome to 2016.

Yep, sure does. I used to own a bar, and seen it all the time. Never had any issues of groping or harassment. But seen the flirting and guys hitting on the waitress and bartender all the time. But it works both ways, they would flirt and some flirt a lot, to get that extra tip. so it at times, can send a mixed message. It's still no excuse for putting hands on someone. But I seen many times and it still happens. The waitress or bartender comes over the a guy, and puts her hand on his shoulder and flirts it up, asking if the are ok or need another drink. So if it's not someone they know real well, like in most cases. What would some guys think. But still no excuse at all. But add a bit too much alcohol...then it can get to be a bad choice.

Not sure how familiar you are with this case, Mettenberger did not just grab the girls buttocks he also placed his hands all over her including her breasts. The girl was a waitress, yes, but not on duty that evening.

The act was so egregious that the bar staff threw him out and called police on him. The terms of the sentencing included a BAN from the city of Valdosta and he was kicked off the Georgia team. Doesn't sound like it was just simple teenage hijinks to me.

Mettenberger also failed drug test at combine, flagged for spinal condition and got his faced smashed in at local bar before he ever threw a pass for the Titans.

Plead guilty to sexual battery. A conviction, not just an accusation.

So what! We want him to play football, not babysit our kids. Do you not believe in second chances? Are we not a society that believes in redemption... it's good enough for Presidents but not our NFL QBs? You need to get off your high horse. This is football, modern day gladiators... we take the dregs in life and make them better. America loves a good redemption story and where better for that to occur than on America's team.

Sounds like a convicted sexual batterer with a history of poor judgement is no problem for a guy like you. Me, I have problems. Doesn't matter what year it is.

If thats the case, then give me the proven gladiator not the panty ace who can't win a game or beat out friggin Matt Cassel.

And I'm not going to apologize to you or anyone for sticking up for a girl, waitress or otherwise.

He couldn't beat out Matt Castle so what makes him worth our time and money?

It is not like he was actually in competition with Cassel to have a chance beat him out. If so it would have been a neat trick since all they have done is go through OTAs.

Better off just saying if he is so good, why is he available ?
