Video: TLC: You Will Never Look At Tony Romo The Same!

Look I'll "gush over" (are the quotes for double entendre? You think of that all by yourself?) any time and place I want!

The comment you quoted is noting you objecting to "lack of solid facts" by showing...ZERO facts.
You're so lost in defending your love, you can't even follow the different posts you're responding to.

Are you referring to these ZERO facts I posted? If not, I believe you lost yourself in your flurry of responses.

If Anthony Fasano blocks, AT ALL, on the FG try in Seattle, Romo scores the TD. Imagine how the narrative changes.

Why? Does he win a SB or NFCCG in this video?

If not then he will forever remain a talented underachiever who could have been a SB champ if Parcels had stayed around to push him

The fact that Romo will probably be overlooked for the Hall of Fame is a travesty.

Yea, those undrafted underachievers really get my goat too.

BOOM!!! :hammer:

Romo was an excellent player stuck on terrible rosters. The Cowboys in that era should have racked up multiple No. 1 draft picks if not for the play of Romo lifting the Cowboys to mediocre seasons. On a good roster, Romo would have competed in several Super Bowls and likely won a few. Had he been on the Patriots roster, he would now be called the GOAT, not Tom Brady.

Yeah...sure! When people jump in I can get them mixed up.

As far as "stats and facts" go...let me clear something up; I think stats are a good thing. It's the only metrology we have to gauge players and teams.

However...they should be done with some care and bottle of salt. Cherry picking one to win an argument...no bueno in my book. A single stat or small sample size...with no context or follow through...is downright lazy and presumptive...just to "win".

You cited a stat ten years apart, who WERE these teams, who made the playoffs, as the NFL and rules changed. Just for starters.

But oh... seems were are straying off topic a bit here, maybe.

It really boils down to I want to give Romo a little credit...and you...want to bash him.

No big deal. Humans will human.

Yep. Just like reading only one of my 5-6 posts and jumping to a conclusion about my feelings on Romo as a QB. I suggest you go back and read all my responses in this thread and you might get a different interpretation.

I used the 4 game window because I was responding to one of your cohorts who happened to cherry pick that 4 game span. Willie picked that window only he did exactly what you have accused me of. Lazy research; he didn't look at other factors which certainly contributed to the statistics presented.

And to top it off, I never even mentioned Romo, only the Cowboys performance. Anyone who thinks performances or statistics can be isolated to an individual in a game like NFL Football is fooling themselves. Another point I mention in this thread.

I'm done derailing this thread any further. If you want to discuss this topic outside of this thread. IM me.

Total BS and revisionist history. Parcells built a Super Bowl roster that Wade inherited and they went 13-3 and had the number one seed. Sportswriters considered that roster to be Super Bowl caliber on both sides of the ball and the wild Card Giants won. Romo failed to get it done just like Dak.

Yes, on offense where Romo and TO were a big part of that only pre-injuries. TO was hobbled due to a non-healed high ankle sprain and the Cowboys were playing Jacques Reeves (4th corner) as a starting cornerback. The defense was middle of the pack.

Romo failing to get it done on the last play of the game is not the same as the game being over at halftime because the QB effectively throws two pick sixes. Dak-Stans make all sorts of excuses for Dak’s play being a result of deficiencies of the team yet they never give Romo the same benefit.
