Daks 2023 season > Romos 2014 season but they are close stats wise and to act like Dak never got close is ridiculous
The problem with you guys is you don't know when to let go. You are expecting 2023, next year, when Dak looks like he is over the hill. But hold onto that fools gold all you want.

Not in the playoffs. That's just a fact.
But Romo never got the playoff support from the rest of the team. I go back to the 2007 playoff game against the Giants and Patrick Crayton dropped a TD pass that would have put Dallas up 24-14. The Cowboys dominated that game statistically and if Crayton makes that play New York never catches up, and they never upset the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Just a play here and there and history is forever changed.

Take Eli's second Super Bowl. The Giants got in the playoffs as a 9-7 wild card. Dallas lost to them 37-34 in December, but Miles Austin dropped a TD that would have given Dallas a 41-22 lead with seven minutes to play. Instead the Cowboys punt and New York comes back. Had Austin made that play, the Giants don't even make the playoffs.

I can argue two mistakes by two Cowboys receivers allowed Eli to win two Super Bowls. And forever tainted Romo's legacy.

He might have changed the plays within a particular formation, but I don't think he went totally rogue.
I don't know how often, but there's no doubt in my mind he was changing plays. Romo killing plays wasn't that rare of an occurrence, and I will never forget one game vs Washington where Romo was yelling at Garrett for being a moron. I think it's part of the reason why Garrett wanted him gone.

What stood out to me was the interception issue. In Romo’s 6 playoff games he only threw 2 interceptions. In 2023 WC game Dak threw 2 interceptions in the first half, one was for a pick 6. In 2023 Dak was runner up in the MVP voting as stated in every Dak thread but in that one playoff game (in the first half) he matched Romo’s interception total for 6 complete games. I’m not saying this to bash Dak, I’m saying this because people who favor Dak have used stats to devalue Romo and Troy Aikman.

I believe Romo is a HOFer if Patrick Crayton catches the sure TD pass against the Giants in 2007 that hit him directly in the hands. Worst drop since Jackie Smith. Also if the refs call the Dez catch a catch and another thing that is rarely talked about in that game was Demarco Murray fumbled the ball on a Julius Peppers swipe in the middle of the field. That was at worst a long run to set up a TD and at best a walk in TD.

I think history looks back on Romo more favorably if he doesn’t botch the snap, Crayton catches the ball, Murray holds onto the ball and the refs make the right call on the Dez catch.

Don’t forget Anthony Fasano’s TD drop in the end zone. In that 2007 playoff game 2 receivers, Crayton and Fasano, dropped sure TD passes. But Romo got the blame .

That’s like blaming Lamar for losing to the Bills. He hit Andrews in the hands and Andrews dropped it. Lamar brings them all the way down and his TE drops a gimmie. The TE lost that game for the Ravens that like Crayton and Fasano lost the game for us.

Romo was elite. He was better than Troy Aikman, in fact. More accurate, more athletic, ran a more complicated offense, and could read defenses at the level of Brady and Manning.

However, he was a victim of circumstance stuck in a clown show.

He was. Clearly.

Troy had the best offensive line in NFL history, great receivers, arguably the best RB of all time, and the fastest defense in the league. All run by Jimmy.

Romo had one year with Parcells, then dysfunctional chaos.

Romo made dozens and dozens of plays that Troy could never make. Troy had to have perfection around him. Romo truly carried the team at times, which Troy couldn't do.

Hard to argue with this.

I don’t care who makes the rules if you quoting that mess I’m posting/speaking etc to you too for being a NPC that can’t/won’t think for themselves.
What are you talking about? Quoting? NPC? He didn’t have a hall of fame career. The hall of fame isn’t some participation trophy like the pro bowl you guys complain about.
The point. Yet you dakistans all came rushing into the thread to defend your guy.
I came in to talk Romo. Romosexuals are the ones who had to bring Dak in because Romo’s career can’t stand on its own. I’d prefer not bringing him up because the only relevance he has in a Romo thread is they both are having the same career and he lost his job to Dak.
