I remember last year (or two years ago maybe) I was searching for the stat "dropped passes" and couldn't find it. I searched for quite awhile too.
Now, all you have to do is turn on ESPN for a half hour and you'll be sure to see it.

TO deserved to be in by virtue of the fact that he's DEFINITELY a top three WR in the NFC, and arguably the best receiver in the league.
If that's not what the Pro Bowl is about, then I guess it's just a free trip to Hawaii.

Excellent point. Funny. I was just thinking the exact same thought which I laid down in another thread. It's funny how it's international news who has the most drops this year but no one can name the person that had the most last year.

Know why? Because drops are only an obscure and newly kept stat... and it's usually an indicator of guys who are targeted more. Pop quiz... who do you think would have more drops...? A #1 WR who is targeted 120 times in a season, or say a 2nd TE who is on the team mainly for blocking purposes, but catches the occasional pass? Now who do you think is more dependable, who do you think the QB would be more confident throwing to? See how useless a drops stat is? No? Why am I not surprised?
See you're just like every other mediot in the country. You basically say you hate TO and that you want him out of Dallas? Then TO goes out this season, leads the league in TDs and you sweep that under the rug. TO has yet to do anything that has been a true detriment to the team, but do you care? No... you latch on to some completely meaningless and misleading stat, and say... "Leading the league in TDs? Well he's also leading the league in drops, so he should be cut." You've bought Skip Bayless' schtick hook, line, and sinker. And the analogy fits completely... you're like the fish at the back of the school who follows the rest of the group blindly. Secondly, bringing up all these guys and their reputations, is completely irrelevant... have to look up that word too? It means it doesn't matter, or it's beside the point.
Cadillac is a RB... his penchant for dropping passes (which I've never heard of, but I'll take your word for it for argument's sake) is secondary to his duties running the ball, and it's only an indicator that the Bucs are trying to get him the ball in space. To discount his abilities because he may drop an occasional pass only makes you look close-minded.

I don't get this. All I hear on BSPN is how Owens didn't get in because he's such a jerk, & that comes back to haunt you, even if you've got better stats than someone else. Case in point:
Owens had 77 catches for 1040 yds. & 11 TDs.
Boldin had 75 catches for 1027 yds. & 4 TDS......Four touchdowns!
Using the BSPN strategy, then, Witten should have beaten Shockmouth by a landslide. Here is their comparison:
Shockmouth had 64-626-7
Witten had 54-642-1
At least Witten beat Shockley in yards & YPC. Everyone knows what a butthead the moron from NY is, so, going by BSPN's logic, Witten should have been voted in simply because no one likes the crybaby from the Pints.
I guess their logic only works for players with stars on their helmets.
