He's right. Despite all the mistakes we made, it should never come down to a crap call by the refs. If we lose in OT, so be it. They took away any chance of that.

It's interesting that the call cost us a chance.

It seems like a lot of call rob the viewers of a game not influenced by referees.
NFL management of referees is - lacking. You wonder why ratings are down.

I am going to say this one more time with the videos of BOTH kicks last night that are in this thread to watch. Pay very close attention to when Ladouceur puts the ball on the ground in respect to WHERE THE REFS are and their MOVEMENTS to indicate if the whistle he blown and the play is ready to be snapped.

Don’t bother about anything else.

When you say the ‘set up’ to a snap was done in a similar manner in both cases, you are clearly missing the fundamental issue. Movement by the Center cannot happen outside his head and shoulders once the WHISTLE IS BLOWN.

The defenders time everything according to the movement of the ball. They don’t go back the sound of the QB, which can often be used just to get them off-sides.

The defender jumped when the WHISTLE BLOWN in the first case when our Center has moved the ball down AFTER the whistle was blown. In the second case, Ladouceur puts the ball down and gets set in position, including placing the ball on the ground, WHILE the refs are still getting in their positions before the snap and the whistle. In the first case, you can even see the main referee behind the Qb raise his hands to indicate the play is ready to go and the snap as well. Then Ladouceur puts the ball down, instead of having it on the ground causing the defender to jump.

So the actual mistake was Ladouceur didn’t even get set properly by the time the whistle was blown.

And talking about them not blowing it in the past is totally irrelevant, because in this case the defender jumped and often times defenses are told to jump when they see movement by an OL to force the referee to blow a whistle to get a false start penalty.
This movement forced the defender to jump, so the referee was right in blowing the whistle for him.

Otherwise you are saying the Cowboys should have been awarded for a penalty for an ‘off sides’ because they supposedly never called an illegal motion by a Center before on a snap. The defender forced the issue and they got the call like they should have.

Did the players get their field trip permission slips signed by their parents?
