Although I was a big fan of Tony’s, I can see a lot of difficulty in them voting him in.

Having the hardware really helps unless a player has Darren Woodson talent.
I don't even think its the hardware that's the issue. Romo's playoff record was 2-4. To only have 6 playoff games in a 10+ year career is abysmal. I think you could make the argument if he had more playoff appearances. And he would've had he not got hurt in 2015 and 2016......not sure if they would've ever won a ring but surely would've won some of those games.

If he had the hardware, his record would be better than 2-4…..that’s my point

Eli Mannings is 8-4 with the 2 SBs…….ergo, “ The Hardware”

The only awesome thing Jason Garrett did was finally convince Jerry to draft offensive linemen in the first round. By then, Tony was physically broken.

True, someone had to do it. By that point it had become pretty clear he didn't have much of a choice.

QUARTERBACKS (10): Marc Bulger, Randall Cunningham, Jake Delhomme, Doug Flutie,
Rich Gannon, Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb, Steve McNair, Tony Romo, Michael Vick.

Love Romo but I'm no Homer. Not Hall of Fame Worthy. Not winning a superbowl is the difference between him not getting in but dumb face manning getting in.

I don't think I would put Romo in what I would have as my hall of fame. I would have a much more exclusive hall of fame.... but I tend to think it is now the hall of very good and I think he has a real case for that. His argument...

- The same completion percentage as Peyton Manning, 65.3, tied for 10th all-time.
- His 97.1 passer rating is the ninth-best in league.
- His 7.89 yards per attempt ranks eighth all-time.
- His 2.12 touchdown/interception ratio ranks 15th all-time.
- From 2007 to 2016, he led all quarterbacks with a 103.5 rating in the fourth quarter or overtime.
- His 23 fourth-quarter comebacks and 27 game-winning drives from 2006 to 2014 ranked first for all quarterbacks.
- For his career, he ranks 17th in fourth-quarter comebacks.
- Best 4th quarter passer rating of all time.

Jake Delhime?

I mean.....is there a typo with that list? Is that like a list of QBs who will be competing in the next Dancing With The Stars or something?

That CAN'T be for the HOF.

If so...the HOF has become meaningless.

I mean....I'd take Kirk Cousins over a handful of those ham-and-eggers.

Some of those guys went back and forth from starting to being backups. Sure....Tom Brady STARTED OFF as a backup, but once he became a starter he STAYED a starter.

If your a QB in the HOF, at no point in ur career AFTER being a starter should you have to take a backup job just to stay in the league.
Any player can be nominated. It doesn’t mean they have a realistic chance. There are no QB’s on that list worthy of HOF consideration.

Also comparing stats from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s for offensive players to today is not a fair comparison because of all the rule changes favoring offense. Roger Staubach retired with the highest QB rating in NFL history in 1979. His career passer rating is 91.7. It’s just not the same game.

Comparing QB stats from previous eras to today’s QB stars makes about as much sense as those claiming LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan was. It is utterly laughable. Some of today’s high stat QB’s couldn’t hold the jockstraps of some of yesteryear’s star QB’s. There was no sliding, no throwing away passes when your outside the box. And receivers could be mugged all the way down the field. Passer efficiency and ratings were way lower when the defense was allowed to behead QB’s, and when receivers got lit up by safeties when they tried to come across the center of the field.

It was a different game. Just like the NBA has practically outlawed defense making their games mostly unwatchable, the NFL has severely crippled today’s football defenses. It’s just not the same.
